Community Christian School (CCS)is located in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and is a private, accredited Christian School as well as a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Christian Schools International (CSI). The mission of Community Christian School is to serve God by providing families an academically excellent, Biblically integrated education, which encourages spiritual development and social responsibility in an environment where students can develop their God-given gifts and talents.

CCS serves students in preschool through eighth grade and their families. ThecurentK-8 enrollment is66 students. Preschool enrollment is 48 students for 3 and 4 year olds.

Community Christian School has an opening for the following position for the 2017-18 school year:

  • Full-time kindergarten teacher

Applicants must:

  • Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities
  • Utilize valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school’s philosophy
  • Supervise lunch, recess, extracurricular activities, organizations and outings as assigned
  • Collaborate with other teachers
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, well –ordered classroom
  • Participate in regular devotions, professional development and staff meetings
  • Understand the benefits and limitations of working at a small private school
  • Effectively communicate with families
  • Assess learning of students as directed
  • Assure students meet or exceed minimum requirements of the grade level

Desired qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Current Iowa Teaching License and required endorsements for the position
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Strong Christian character and Biblical knowledge/understanding
  • Ability to communicate effectively with young children
  • Ability to integrate Biblical and Christian concepts into all subjects
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Ability to instill a love of learning
  • Ability to cultivate a learning environment that has high expectations for each student’s growth and achievement and provide the supports necessary to achieve the expectations
  • Ability to deliver lessons with clarity, passion, and an unwavering Biblical worldview
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate the parent/school relationship
