Communications Office Report October 09, 2017
Please select the links below to check out DRS’ newly released 30 second public service announcements. These are DRS’ first new PSAs in two years due to the state budget shortfall. DRS Communications Director Jody Harlan wrote, cast and produced the PSAs, which were shot and edited by Jody Wickersham, owner of Brand Knew Media under annual contract to DRS. Mr. Wickersham generously discounted the production $2,421 to meet DRS’ limited production budget.
Twenty TV and 100 radio stations are airing our PSAs free of charge through Vocational Rehabilitation and Visual Services’ partnership with the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters. In State Fiscal Year 2017, OAB stations broadcast DRS PSAs valued at $1,087,774.
The PSAs are posted on the DRS public web site at http://www.okdrs.gov/psa/home. As part of our commitment to “Access for All,” we have included descriptive audio recordings and transcripts with each PSA. Please select the Closed Caption (CC) icon to turn on the captions.
