·  Its prevention and awareness raising work, especially with the vulnerable.

·  Its diversionary work with young people, arson is less common as a result.

·  Its approach to recruitment of under represented groups including women and ethnic minorities.

Chair of the Fire Authority said: “We are pleased that the Authority has achieved this result, and that our successes in reducing deaths and injuries and improving the safety of our communities has been recognised. The report highlights the fact that we have a very productive workforce who help us provide excellent value for money and we continue to provide a wide range of services and initiatives to our communities.
