City of Fennville
The regularly scheduled meeting of the City of Fennville was called to order in City Hall at 7:00 p.m. by Clerk Perez.
Commissioners Present:Suerth, Hayden, Brien, Machan, Cummins, Almquist
Absent: Pantelleria
Public present:Colleen Rae, Local Observer;Sarah Bushee, Fire Chief; Attorney Dan Martin; Amanda Morgan
The pledge of allegiance was recited.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Clerk Perez entertained nominations for Mayor: Moved Brien, second Cummins to nominate Tom Pantelleria for City Mayor. With no more nominations, Clerk Perezcalled the roll. Ayes: Suerth, Cummins, Almquist, Hayden, Brien, Machan. MOTION CARRIED. Clerk Perez entertained nominations for Mayor Pro-tem: Moved Brien, second Almquist, to nominate Jim Suerth for Mayor Pro-Tem. With no more nominations, Clerk Perez called the roll. Ayes: Cummins, Almquist, Hayden, Brien, Machan. MOTION CARRIED Clerk Perez turned the meeting over to Mayor Pro-tem Suerth.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as printed.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Suerth introduced Amanda Morgan, the new City Administrator, scheduled to start working Dec. 4th.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:MovedCummins,secondBrien,to approve the minutes of theNovember 6,2017 meeting as presented. Ayes: All. MOTION CARRIED.
COMMUNICATIONS: Reviewed the MTS Building Permits.
OLD BUSINESS:
Graffiti- Brien reported Sue at Dickinson’s Hardware will clean up the graffiti on their property and the Police Chief is still working on the graffiti on the Pier Cove Cargo Co. building.
NEW BUSINESS: None
FINANCIAL/PERSONNEL REPORT: None.
CITY SERVICES: Brien reported the Fire Board meets next week, the Ambulance Board meets the first week of December. Brien reported Pantelleria was appreciative of the flowers sent by the Commission.
CITY PROPERTIES: None.
ORDINANCES/COMMUNITY RELATIONS: None.
PLANNING COMMISSION REPORT: Machan reported he will send a copy of the updated Recreation Plan to the Commission members by email for their review.
ADMINISTRATION/DDA: No report.
MISCELLANEOUS: Suerth advised the Commission members if they wanted to change any of the committees there are currently on, to let the Mayor know.
ATTORNEY REPORT: Dan Martin reported he obtained from Scholten Fant a copy of the Resolution regarding escrowing of insurance proceeds and forwarded a copy to the Clerk.
APPROVAL OF BILLS: Moved Machan, second Cummins,to approve payment of bills as printed in the amount of $6,886.40.Ayes: All. MOTION CARRIED.
Meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m. The next meeting of the City Commission will be held on Monday, December 4th, 2017@ 7:00 p.m.
