Inaugural “Legends Super Bowl” Winners – 19+ AChampion Armageddon Defeats Elite Champion RepeatOffenders! 73-61
Clearly, a “Don’t mess with us” pose!
What can anyone say about Armageddon?! Now the most successful and dominating Legends team in any single season by walking away with two titles and doing it with a perfect 10-0 run! Can they match the Elders for longevity and success, who won 4 straight titles? By winning the “Legends Super Bowl”, Armageddon was able to name their favorite charity for Legends to donate $200, which will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs. Congrats to a great team and great group of guys!

Elite Division – Champion RepeatOffenders! 51-50 over PitBulls
The RepeatOffenders never got their due all year, as they were consistently picked to lose on multiple occasions, including this game against the feared PitBulls! In fact, it looked as though the PitBulls would run away with this game, as they jumped ahead by more than 10 points in the first quarter. But Repeat never gave up, and when the PitBulls let their guard down and appeared to believe this game was theirs, Repeat came roaring back! The game went back and forth, and in the end, Repeat indeed delivered the goods! Superstud and previous league MVP Art “BigMan” Crowder played like he was overseas in the pros again, and was named MVP for the winter season. He finished with a loud 24 points! “We clearly wouldn’t have been able to do it without him, that’s for sure,” stated Repeat’s coach Joe Hsu. “Just think if we had another bigman on the team to support him,” he dreamed out loud. Every other Repeat player played important roles. Scores were:
“Elite” Division MVP Art Crowder slams one home!
Ladies Division – Champion ZeroGravity! 46-41 over Gaga’s
ZeroGravity came into this game with something to prove. First, they lost one game all season, and that was to the undefeated Gaga’s. Second, they lost a heartbreaker in last season’s Finals, and they did not want to taste defeat two years in a row! So as underdogs, they came out firing, and were able to finally take the women’s crown that had eluded them last year! These ladies play a great team game, and thus several could have been named MVP. This season, the honor went to Amber Dorsey, who was particularly big on defense and rebounds. “I love this team,” coach Amanda Brown (MVP from a couple season’s ago). “Even as underdogs, we were able to go to several players when we needed to,” she added. Both Amanda and Roxy Harris lead the team in scoring with 13 each.

19+ A Division – Champion Armageddon! 89-55 over Ninja
Armageddon, Armageddon, Armageddon! We knew they were going to be pretty much unstoppable, even when some teams thought they may have a chance when they were only playing with 5 or 6 players. But this was Armageddon’s season, and they simply destroyed Ninja, who are an excellent team in their own right. However, when Armageddon is on, they are on!There are so many superstars on this team, it is mind-boggling! This season, Alex Wallace walked away with league MVP for his unselfish, dedicated, and dominant play all season. “It is a joy to manage these guys,” stated player/manager Shawn Rivers, who had 3 straight 3-pointers and finished with 11 himself. “I can give the ball to anyone and trust they will make it happen when necessary,” he explained.

19+ B Division – Champion Snakes! 48-44 over Run TNC
This game was the rubber match, as the teams split their regular season meetings. And what a thriller it was, going right down to the wire! “Our team was really up for this game, as we knew it would be a battle the entire game,” explained player/coach Ryan Carr. “It was nice to avenge our only loss of the season, and sincerely appreciate Run TNC’s gracious gesture to move the game time so we could field our team.” He added. Brendan Henry was named MVP for his unselfish play all season, as well as his domination of the boards. He finished with 11 points in the big game.

A Division –Champion OG’s! 59-41 over Supermen.
The OG’s came on strong in the tournament, beating a solid team in the Supermen by 18 points. They did it with multiple weapons on offense, which seemed to stymie the Supermen, who could not focus on just one or two players. 3 players were in double-digits, including MVP Shane Williams, who put in 13 in the big win. “I like our offensive power,” player/coach Steve LePage stated, who also sports a fine 3-point shot that was not on showcase tonight. “And it is great to be able to go to the hot hand – tonight it was Kelly, Steve, and Shane,” he added.

A/B Division –Champion StrongArms! 42-36 over CACI
The StrongArms have been around a long time, and it sure shows it in the way they play as a team! They took out a powerful CACI team that was favored in this tourney. “We’ve played together so much, that we can anticipate so well what each of us is going to do,” explained player/coach Jeff Schumann. “It also didn’t hurt that we could field two teams if we had to, so getting tired was not a factor here,” he added. Aaron Strange got the nod for MVP, and it was well-deserved. He scored 10in the big game, and played inspirational ball all season to help put them on the championship platform!

B Division –Champion Boomshakalaka! 66-47 over Tropics
Boom was the favorite way back in Week 1, when they showed their power, but had to fight to get to these Finals after a thrilling last-minute comeback in the semis! But in the Finals, they took no chances, pulling away from the Tropics and winning by a comfortable 19 points. “We were so close to losing to the Killers in the semis, but somehow we pulled it out,” player/coach Justin Bye explained. “We wanted to come out strong from the start tonight, and I am glad to say we were able to do that,” he added. Justin was also named MVP, as he poured in 20, and basically was unstoppable in the B Division this season. “And yes, we do finally plan to move up to A/B for the spring season!” he mentioned, as cheers from other B teams were heard.
