Commenting on the Local Plan
Once you have logged in to the portal you will see the following screen
To comment on the Draft Local Plan click on it.
The following screen will open
On the left hand side you will see all sections of the report
20 Welham Green
21 Brookmans Park
22 Little Heath
If, for example, you click on the entry for Welham Green you will get the following ( only part shown)
Scroll down to see all the subsections for Welham Green
For each section you will see an Add Comments Tab on the Right hand side. This allows you to make specific comments for specific subsections of the plan. If you are unsure which section is relevant then click on the Add comments tab that relates to 20 Welham Green ( 21 for Brookmans Park,22 for Little Heath)
To make a comment click on the relevant 'Add Comments' tab .
We would suggest you click Yes to the question as to whether the Plan is legally compliant.
If you click No you will be required to comment on Planning law. This is an area best left to specialists
If you click on No to the question as to whether the Local Plan is sound the system will ask you for the categories of why you think the plan is not sound
Positively Prepared: Has it recognised the levels of development that a community can sustain given its infrastructure? Does it meet future housing targets?
Justified: Is this the most appropriate way of meeting the housing targets, vision and future for the borough, parish and ward
Effective: Can the plan says what is it going to do? Has it demonstrated joint working with other authorities to deliver this?
Consistent with national policy: Does it comply with the principles of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). Can the proposed developments be sustained?
The system will time out after an hour so make sure you save you work by clicking on the Save as Draft tab.
IMPORTANT: When you click green ‘Submit’ tab you cannot go back and edit your work so only click ‘Submit’ when you are happy that you have finished with your comments.
You can go back and comment on other sections of the plan. You cannot revisit something that you have submitted.
To comment on the Draft Infrastructure Delivery Plan
You will get the following screen
Choose the what element of infrastructure you want to comment on by clicking on it on the left hand side.
For instance transport ( only part shown - scroll down to see all sections)
This should be an opportunity not only to decry any lack of current and planned infrastructure but also to suggest other improvements that could and should be made.
As before don't forget to save your work as draft and only submit when you have finished.
