Programme of Practical Sessions in Psychiatry Summer Semester 2016/2017

  1. Mental status examination. Basic principles of the examination of psychiatric patients. Observation, description of the patient´s behavior, interview.
  2. Mental status examination of patients of different diagnostic groups. Mental status examination of psychotic and non - psychotic patients. Special approaches to the examination according to diagnostic groups.
  3. Disturbances of perception.

Hallucinations and illusions, gnostic and psychosensoric disturbances.

  1. Disturbances of thinking. Disturbances of speed of thinking, disturbances of structure of thinking, delusions.
  2. Disturbances of memory. Quantitative and qualitative disturbances of memory.
  3. Disturbances of emotion.
  4. Disturbances of motor activity, disturbances in behavior.Catatonic disturbances.
  5. Disturbances of consciousness. Quantitative and qualitative disturbances of consciousness. Sleep disorders.
  6. Intellectual impairment. Retardation and degradation of intellectual abilities.
  7. Disturbances of personality. Global and special disturbances of personality.
  8. Syndromes in Psychiatry.

Emotional syndromes, syndromes of disturbed consciosness, syndromes of disturbed motor activity and behavior, paranoid syndromes, asthenic syndromes, syndromes of organic lesions.

Overview of laboratory tests frequently used in psychiatry. Significance and

value of laboratory tests in diagnosis of mental disorders. Significance of

psychodiagnosis / neuropsychological testing.

15. Compensatory week. It is determined for substitution, consultation and signature of

Psychiatry Ievaluation after fulfillment of all requirements.

Requirements for Psychiatry I evaluation.

  1. The participation in practicals is compulsory for at least 13-times (especially from 1st to 13th week).
  2. Check in the course of practicals:

- Evaluation till the end of 7th week: active participation in practicals; permanent study check (control question); examination of patients, case reports and analysis.

-Evaluation till the end of 14th week: written test – minimal success 60 %; examination of patients, case reports and analysis; permanent study check (control question).

Evaluation of the results during practicals

Rating: A/1 = 91 – 100 %; B/1,5 = 81 – 90 %; C/2 = 73 – 80 %; D/2,5 = 66 – 72 %; E/3 = 60 – 65 %, Fx = less than 60 %
