CNSF Board Meeting

January 5, 2015

Colts Neck Court House

At 8pm PresidentJeff Sponder called the meeting to order All members are present.

The minutes of the December meeting were approved unanimously.

Louise and Anthony reviewed the financials.

Anthony and Louise are working to bring all financials current. There are random outstanding bills that need to be processed. If anyone has outstanding bills that have not been paid, please submit to Anthony by end of week.

There will be a new processes set up to requests checks, submit bills and steward all financial transactions. The account will be moved from TD Bank to Chase.

The capital expenditures have been approved. Commissioners should review and confirm to Jeff the latest budget is correct.

DJ and Eric will have a secure ‘tab’ on the website for confidential information.

Basketball,

Overall there have been no problems and teams are running well. membership down 11-12%., Lost 8th graders and younger girl grades. Jeff requested all commissioner and coaches to be sensitive to the younger children and new families that are unfamiliar with the inner workings of the sports and the CNSF in general.

Baseball/Softball

Softball registration is open and will close Feb10th . Any late registrations will have a $25.00 late fee. Softball will play in the interleague again with the four towns.

Travel baseball is $150. Eric is working on joint registration for both rec and travel to make it easier to manage the membership. Fees are going up to compensate for field management. There is a question about maintenance and how to work with the town on the fields.

Scott and Jeff will develop a plan to manage the funds.

Wrestling

Three matches so far, Tuesday and Thursday at Bucks. Teams are participating in Jersey Shore and Devo programs.

Soccer

There are plans for a winter league on Saturdays at Bucks Mill for 2-8th grade, non-travel players. There will be trainers so cost will go up to $80 for first, and $40 for each additional child. After cost are approved a notice will be posted on website.

There was a motion for a winter soccer program focused on introductory purposes. The motion was seconded and past.

Alberto resigned as soccer commissioner. There was a following discussion on two candidates for the new soccer commissioner. A motion was made to add both candidates to the board for a one yearterm. It passed by majority. Joe will act as temporary soccer commission until the February meeting and both have accepted and a commissioner is selected.

Fundraising and Event Committee

Joe is looking into Eagle Oaks for the Father/Daughter dance. The committee will meet and present a calendar for 2015.

Soccer and Basketball had a successful pizza parties with great turnouts. Each sport should develop similar community programs. Both events and charity committees should plan specific charity and other community support events as part of our outreach and marketing program.

Laura made a motion for sports swap to playoffs for Basketball on 2/21 possibly at Primary. Laura will confirm dates and location.

Athlete’s Alley requested to advertise coupons on our site. Modell’s and Dick’s have both submitted proposals to partner and/or incentivize the members of the CNSF. The finance committee will review the options and make a proposal.

Marketing

Star reviewed the deadline date for the CN Journal is the 10th. DJ will launch the CNSF Facebook page.

Other Business

The soccer club bought light towers. That submitted a proposal to CN Township to store the lights. In return the town uses the lights in town emergencies and the town maintained the lights. The township needs this to be an official agreement between the town and the CNSF- as the governing body of the soccer club. Jeff will sign and return to the mayor.

Motion was made to close the meeting. The motion passed and the meeting was adjourned.
