College Credit Plus (CCP) Reminders

  • GPA Requirements:

  • The following will result in reimbursement charges for the cost of the course(s) taken:
  • Final grade of an F in the CCP course(s)
  • Withdrawing from the CCP course(s) after the add/drop deadline
  • Poor attendance in the CCP course(s)

**Like with all school fees, diploma/transcripts/records may be held until fees are paid

  • Grades for CCP courses ARE factored into the student’s GPA, however, the college calendar may not match up with the Elgin calendar. Therefore, some CCP grades may not get computed into the GPA until the next grading period. THIS CANNOT BE AVOIDED.
  • Students must obtain prior approval from the Guidance Office for any CCP class they wish to count towards an Elgin graduation requirement. CCP classes taken at Elgin automatically count toward graduation.
  • School Delays:
  • Students must still attend ALL classes at Elgin as long as it provides enough time to still get to your CCP site in time for class. ELGIN KEEPS ALL STUDENT CCP SCHEDULES ON FILE SO WE ARE AWARE OF WHEN & WHERE YOUR COURSES ARE HELD. **Elgin is paying for you to take CCP courses, so we expect every effort to be made to attend all Elgin and all CCP courses.
  • School Cancellations
  • Student must still attend CCP courses unless cancelled at that site.
  • Athletic Eligibility
  • Student must be enrolled in 5 (HS or equivalent) credits and maintain a 1.5 GPA.
  • College credits are not equal to HS credits – conversion chart is in the Curriculum Guide.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to make sure they are taking the required amount of credits to retain athletic eligibility. See Guidance for assistance.
  • Elgin High School makes every effort to obtain current grades from CCP sites when determining eligibility at the end of every grading period.
