Collaborative Religious Education Program- Fall 2014

The collaborative religious education staff of St. Helen’s and St. Mary’s would like to thank you for your patience as we work out the details for theFall Collaborative Religious Education program. We are excited about utilizing the staff, space and resources of both parishes to provide religious education for approximately 2000 children.

Weacknowledgethat change can be difficult. Prayerful consideration has gone into the program and schedule we have developed in order to fulfill our collaborative goal of building community while providing consistent, high quality programs.

Program Details:

All programs are open to both St. Helen’s and St. Mary’s parishioners.

Some classes are only offered at one location due to staff and/or space constraints.

Grades 1, 3, 4 and 5 have a home school option for those who prefer it.

All Fees are per student, per year except Grade 9 + 10 which carries a one-time combined fee of $150.

The maximum fee for any family will not exceed $325 per year (this does not include our summer program.)

Sacraments -Grade 2( First Communion) and Grade 10 (Confirmation) will be celebrated in your “home parish” (where your family is registered)

Special Education: Mrs. Karen Gill, Coordinator - There is no fee for this program

This program is geared towards children who require specialized instruction or a different approach to learning than our weekday program offers. The Special Education program will continue to be offered at St. Mary’s on the First Sunday of the monthfor 1 hour prior to the Family Mass.

Grade 1 - Mrs. Maura Dowling, Coordinator(Programfee is $75 per child)

Monday from 4:30-5:30 PM at Saint Mary Parish Center or home school program

Grade 2- Mrs. Karen Gill, Coordinator(Program fee is $100 per child)

Tuesdays from 3:00- 4:00 PM -OR- from 4:30-5:30 PM at Saint Mary Parish Center

Grade 3, 4, 5 - Mrs. Jeanne Cregan,Mrs. Karen Gill, Mrs. Maura Dowling, coordinators(Program fee is $75 per child)

Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 PM at both Saint Helen’s and Saint Mary’s

Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 PM at Saint Mary’s

Grade 3-5 also have the Summer Rel. Ed option held at St. Mary’s from June 30th to July 11th from 9AM to Noon each day (except July 4th). Summer rates differ from school year program.

Grades 6 to 9 (and 10th Grade Confirmation) - will be cooperatively taught by Mr. Mike Habeeb (Youth Minister),

Mr. Tim Habeeb (Asst. Youth Minister)and Mrs. Jeanne Cregan (Coordinator)

Grades 6 & 7- EDGE(Program fee is $75 per child, per year)

Wednesday evenings6-7:30PM at Saint Helen’s

Sunday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:55PM at St. Mary’s followed byLifeTeen Mass at 6PM.

(The EDGE students meet 2x’s per month and the exact dates will be sent out in the summer.)

Grade 8 & 9 ROC as well as 10th Grade Rite of Confirmation (Gr 8 Program fee is $75, Gr 9 + 10 combined fee $150)

Sunday afternoons at Saint Mary’s from 4:30-5:55 PM prior to the 6PM LifeTeen Mass.

(The ROC students meet 1x per month and the exact dates will be sent out in the summer)
