Code Black – Bomb Threat

Below you will find important information/procedures in the event that a Code Black evacuation should occur.

• Announcement will be made via intercom to evacuate (Code Black)

·  Evacuate facility. Keep students calm.

·  No cell phones in use (leave phones on if on; off if already off).

·  No walkie-talkies should be in use.

·  Electrical switches should not be touched (leave lights, etc. on if on; off if already off).

·  All classrooms will evacuate the building using all of the west side exit doors. Teachers and students will proceed to the police station and line up in their designated areas according to grade level.

·  Bring planbook and emergency contact information

·  Specials teachers will bring classes to the appropriate grade level at the police station. The homeroom teacher will meet you at the designated area.

·  Students in the cafeteria will exit the main hall through the west doors and go directly to the police station.

·  Teachers will take attendance. If there is a missing student or an emergency, hold up your red emergency card. A SAFE team member will come to you. Do not leave your students.

·  SAFE team will communicate using megaphones. DO NOT use walkie-talkies.

·  Students in the office and clinic will evacuate with office staff.

·  Students in restrooms or hallways should evacuate with the nearest class.

·  Once at the police station, a SAFE team member will escort misplaced students to their correct grade level designated areas.
