Job Description:
Title: Programme Coordinator for the Coalition for Sustainable Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices (CSPM)
Hours: 2 days of work or equivalent to 15 hours per week
Contract: 15 months to 2 years fixed term
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 pro rata
Responsible to: Chair of the CSPM and to the CSPM. As such the role is not responsible to any one organization.
Responsible for: Programme management and delivery on behalf of the CSPM
Base: Flexible with travel in/to England
The CSPM:
The aim ofthe group is to enable the transition to more sustainable health care through promoting best practice and developing sustainability tools and guidelines related to pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
The group acts as a convener of expertise related to sustainable pharmaceuticals and medicals devices and dissemination of best practise throughout thehealthcare system globally.
Current leadership members:AstraZeneca, Baxter Healthcare, Becton Dickinson, Boehringer Ingelheim, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, MSD, Novo Nordisk and the Sustainable Development Unit.

Role purpose:
The programme manager will take the lead to coordinate and ensure the delivery of the programme of work on behalf of the CSPM. This includes regular communication with key members and wider stakeholders, regular appraisal of the purpose, remit and impact of the CSPM, responsibility for ensuring the programme plan is developed and delivered in a consultative manner, managing the business plan, budget processes, tracking and delivering key work streams and related contractor management.
Key Job Specific Responsibilities:
•Take the lead and responsibility to develop and deliver the programme of work for the CSPM in a fully collaborative manner.
•Deputise as appropriate for the chair, acting on behalf of the CSPM
•Liaise regularly and proactively with leadership members of the CSPM and other stakeholders to ensure positive contribution and delivery of the CSPM aims.
•Manage the 2 yearly face to face meetings with all members, developing the agenda and logistics pertaining to the meeting.
•Arrange regular teleconferences for and with the group, including drafting the agenda and documents for the meetings.
•Manage membership processes including if appropriate the growth of the group with new members.
•Further develop and implement the communications and branding strategy for the CSPM and develop it’s website, whilst maintaining a presence on members websites
•Work to ensure a full range of stakeholders across the health sector are party to the CSPM and contribute in a meaningful way.
•Project manage the work streams as necessary to their completion including potential tender processes and contract management
•Monitor and report on progress of the CSPM, its work plan and impact thereof on a regular basis.
•Monitor and manage the CSPM budget and ensure the membership invoicing is managed in a timely and efficient manner.
•Prepare presentations and contributions to relevant partnerships, networks conferences and research agendas.
•Support the group to develop potential models of functioning to ensure it’s continuity in the years to come.

- Good level of knowledge of sustainable pharmaceuticals and medical devices
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Operating at Senior Manager or Senior Programme management role
- Seen as credible across the system in sustainable health
- Qualificationin management or high level administrative processes
Experience /
- Experience in sustainable pharmaceuticals and medical devices and/or sustainable health
- Demonstrable experience of applying Sustainable Development principles in health care
- Good experience in communications and stakeholder management
- Ability to communicate at senior level with a wide variety of sources nationally and internationally
Skills /
- Independent worker able to work across organisational boundaries at national level and at very senior level
- Takes initiative using significant foresight to make progress on complex policy issues
- Ability to negotiate complex and controversial agendas and points of view in relation to area of expertise
