All clubs will be notified of their designated warm-up time by Monday, May 30th, by 5:00 CDT PM, if warm-ups are split. Entering clubs or individuals must provide an email address included with their entry in order to receive any communications

Site:

University of Iowa Campus Recreation & Wellness Center (CRWC), 309 Madison Street, Iowa City, Iowa 52242, Indoors, 50 meters, 8 lanes with a warm up/cool down area with non-turbulent lane lines. A Daktronics Timing System with touch pads & dual push button back-up system will be utilized. One manual watch will be used on each lane for tertiary times. 8 lanes, 25 yard diving well available for warm ups and cool downs. The competition course has been certified in accordance with USA Swimming Rule 104.2.2.2C(4). A copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming.

Coaches:

Only currently registered USA Swimming coach members will be permitted on deck in designated areas. Each coach must sign the Coaches Meet Sign-In (APP-29) and present a current USA Swimming coach membership card to the Meet Referee to verify that all certifications are current and on file. Coaches shall wear their coach membership cards so that they are clearly visible to swimmers and meet personnel at all times. Displaying certifications on Deck Pass is only acceptable except if the coach’s LSC only provides credentials through electronic media.

Warm-ups:

The ISI mandatory warm-up procedure will be followed. All swimmers are to carefully enter the pool using feet first, three point entry. The pool will be cleared 10 minutes prior to competition.

All swimmers must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. Any swimmer without a coach shall report to the Meet Referee prior to his or her warm-up. The Meet Referee will assist the swimmer in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer’s responsibility to ensure such arrangements are made prior to the start of the meet.

The warm-up pool will be open starting at the beginning of the warm-up session continuing through the competition and concluding 20 minutes after the conclusion of competition for each session. Swimmers are reminded always to enter the warm-up pool using feet first, three point entry.

Racing Start Certification:

All swimmers entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performinga racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a membercoach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

Entry Requirements:

  1. Swimmers must be currently registered as athlete members of USA Swimming in order to compete.
  2. Swimmers must enter in the age group events corresponding to the swimmer’s age on the first day of the meet. (June 3, 2016)
  3. Swimmers entered exclusively in timed final events may enter no more than four individual events per day. Swimmers in one or more prelim/final event may enter no more than three individual events per day.
  4. Time Trial will be considered one of the swimmer’s allowed three individual events for the session. See USA Rule 102.2.7.
  5. Entry times conforming to the course length (LCM) shall be considered conforming times. All other times shall be considered non-conforming times. The order of seeding will be LCM, SCY,which meet the time entry standard, with all entries that do not meet the time entry standard seeded after the non-conforming times that meet the time entry standard for their respective course length. A swimmer's (or relay's) seedtime can be no faster than the best time the swimmer (or relay) has achieved in an event swum in the same length pool as this meet. Converted times are not allowed
  6. After the entries are completed, the meet database will be “reconciled” by IA Swimming’s Registration Chair for times that are not in the USA Swimming times database.
  7. L4A reserves the right to enter its own athletes who may not have the qualifying times in all events.
  8. The host team reserves the right to enter up to80swimmers after the meet is filled provided that the added entries do not jeopardize the four-hour rule, if doing so will benefit all athletes (e.g., recruiting additional officials, achieving better balance of age groups and genders, etc.). This determination will be at the discretion of the host team.
  9. Short Course Meters times will not be accepted.

Proof of Times:

The ISI Missed Cut Policy will apply.

Entry Limits:

Entries will no longer be accepted if a four-hour rule is in jeopardy, in Session IV & VII. Meet will be capped at 600 athletes for 13 & Over & 200 athletes for 12 & under.

Entry Fees:

  1. Individual events
  • Timed Final Events are $7.00 per event – (Session IV & VII)
  • Prelim/Final Events are $12.00 per event – (Session I, III, & VI)
  1. ISI swimmer surcharge is $3.00 per swimmer
  2. Meet Swimmer Surcharge is $10.00 per swimmer
  3. Handwritten entries (for teams entering more than five swimmers): additional $2.00 per swimmer.

Lane Four Aquatics will donate $1.00 for every entry to the Swim Pink Foundation.

Entry Forms:

Electronic entries must be submitted in a format compatible with HY-TEK Meet Manager software. Handwritten entries must be submitted on the ISI Meet Entry Form (APP-7).

Submit entries along with the appropriate ISI Financial Sheet (APP-8.1 or APP-8.2). If submitting electronic entries, also send a hardcopy of the entries with the entry fees and financial sheet.

Payment shall be by check made payable to LANE FOUR AQUATICS. All entry fees, including ISI swimmer surcharge, should be combined on one check. The host club reserves the right to require payment by money order or cashier’s check. Entry fees are non-refundable; ISI Swimmer surcharge will be refunded only if the entire meet is cancelled.

  2. All other entries will be accepted beginning on Monday May 2, 2016 @ 10:00AM.
  3. Entries will be confirmed via a return email receipt, within 48 hours.
  4. Hand written entries must be received no later 12:00PM, on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Financial sheet and fees must accompany hand written entries to be accepted.
  5. Electronic entries must be received no later than 12:00PM, on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 with hard copy, financial sheet and fees due by Wednesday, May 25, 2016. If fees are not received, the entries will be scratched.
  6. Teams will not be broken up if entries are received together.
  7. Phone and Fax entries will not be accepted

Late Entries:

Late entries will be accepted provided the meet has not exceeded the time limit. If the meet has exceeded the maximum time limit, late entries will be accepted in available lane space only, without additional heats being added. Late entries will be accepted until 45minute prior to the start of competition of each session. The late entry fee will be $14.00 (Timed Final) & $20.00 (Prelim / Final) per individual events, in addition to the $3.00 ISI surcharge and $10.00 swimmer surcharge. Athletes not already in the meet will be required to show proof of membership when late entering. Please call the entry chair (Demian Werner) to find out if late entries can be accepted.

Swimmers with Disabilities:

Swimmers with disabilities are encouraged to compete. The Information Form for Adapted Competitive Swimmers (APP-21) indicating limitations and requested modifications should be completed and attached to the meet entries. The Meet Referee will determine modifications. The swimmer (or swimmer’s coach) is responsible for providing any equipment or assistance required. See Article 105 of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations.

Officials:

USA Swimming officials from visiting clubs are encouraged to officiate at this meet. All officials will be given a Meal Badge and Polo Shirt for officiating at the Swim Pink Invitational. Please sign up at email Demian Werner at or the Meet Referee for full details. Officials meetings will be held 1hour prior to the start of each session.

Meet Committee:

A meet committee comprised of the Meet Referee, Meet Director, Coach Representative, Athlete Representative and one Certified Official acting at large will be established to receive and act upon any administrative protest filed at the meet. The committee will not act upon protests against judgment decisions as those are under the jurisdiction of the Meet Referee and the Meet Referee’s decision is final. This committee shall act as a review section if there is a need for an emergency hearing.

Meet Operation:

  1. All events
  2. Positive check-in is required for all 14 & Under & Senior events. The positive check-in deadline is 45 minutes prior to the start of competition of the meet. Swimmers who fail to check in by the deadline will be scratched and only allowed to reenter if there are empty lanes available after seeding.
  3. The 13-14 400 Free and 400 IM and the Open 400 Free and 400 IM are each limited to 80 total entries per age group. The 40 fastest women and 40 fastest men will be seeded. Additional swimmers will be added to fill open lanes.
  4. 10 & Under and 11-12 events (Sessions IV and VII)
  5. All events are timed finals.
  6. Swimmers shall report directly to the starting blocks. Flyover starts will be used.
  7. 14 & Under and Open Prelims (Sessions I, III, and VI)
  8. Swimmers shall report directly to the starting blocks. Flyover starts will be used.
  9. Swimmers are responsible for providing their own counters, if a counter is desired. Counting cards will be available.
  10. For all prelim/final events, the top eight swimmers qualifying for the Championship Heat (A), with the next eight qualifying for the Consolation Heat (B). The next eight will qualify for the Bonus Heat (C), except for the 400 Free and 400 IM, which will not have bonus heats.
  11. 14 & Under and Open Finals (Sessions IV and VII)
  12. Championship Heat (A): Swimmers must reportand check in at the ready room, located by the spectator side of the diving well,prior to the start (Long Whistle) of the Bonus Heat (C). Swimmers must be ready to take their position at the long whistle.
  13. Events may be combined at the discretion of the Meet Referee to facilitate meet operation. Results will be separated for scoring and awards.
  14. Deck Changes are Prohibited
  15. Teams wanting an official split time for a swimmer in any event must obtain pre-approval from the Meet Referee and provide an additional timer if necessary.

  1. Awards presentations for all events will be immediately following the conclusion of the A final of each event.
  • Top three place only – for individual events
  • A coach from the team of the event winner is requested to be available at the awards area to present the event awards. If no coach is present, the meet director will designate another presenter.
  1. Awards presentations for individual high point awards, 10 & under and 11-12 will begin following the conclusion of SundaySession VII.

Finis Pink Thunder Goggles, for heat winners in A, B, & C Final heats.

Arena “Hot Heats” will also be awarded, randomly picked.

Individual High Point:Trophy for Top Girl & Boy in the 10 & Under and 11 & 12 age group. Combined score of maximum of eight events.

Team High Point:Trophy for highest combined team score.

USA Swimming Registration:

No USA Swimming registrations will be accepted at the meet. Any swimmer who is not a currently registered athlete member at the time of pre-meet reconciliation must ensure that ISI has received the appropriate confirmation of registration at least 24 hours prior to the start of competition. Failure to do so will result in the swimmer's entries being scratched and the swimmer barred from entering the pool.

Image Release:

Participants consent to be photographed/filmed by any authorized photographer(s) and/or network(s) of ISI and/or the host club under conditions determined by the host club, and authorize the use of names, pictures, likenesses, and biographical information before, during or after the event to promote swimming. No awards received in this competition may be used for trade or financial gain.

Venue Restrictions:

University of Iowa CRWC is a smoke-free facility. NO SMOKING ALLOWED. The use of any type of tobacco product or the consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the swimming venue. Use of audio or visual recording devices including cell phone, is not permitted in the changing areas, rest & locker rooms and also behind the blocks.

Seating:

A bleacher section is available for spectators. Chairs will not be allowed in the bleacher area. Only officials, coaches, meet personnel, and swimmers are permitted on deck. Team areas will be designated for swimmers and coaches. Coaches and swimmers must remain behind the ropes alongside of the competition pool during competition.

Coaches, competitors and spectators will be limited to the natatorium and competitive swimming areas. Please do not enter other areas of the building without permission. If swimmers or spectators enter other areas of the facility without permission, they could be expelled from the meet and escorted out of the venue. In this case, entry fees and admission expenses will not be reimbursed.

Available at the CRWC affiliated vendor area only. Items such as wraps, smoothies and water available for purchase. Vendors, and any proceeds from food sales, are not associated with Lane Four Aquatics or the Swim Pink Invitational in any manner.

Programs & Admission:

  1. Programs will be sold at the Meet for $15.00, which includes (Finals). Sign-up for final results will be available at the pool office.
  2. Admission Fee $3.00 per Session or $15.00 for Entire Meet. Children 12 & under are free.
  3. All Session Pass with all Heats Sheets $25.00
  4. Psych Sheet: Each team will receive a copy of the psych sheet.
  5. Results. Electronic results will be provided to all ISI teams and any non-ISI team participating in the meet. Final Results will be posted on the ISI website. A hardcopy of the final results may be requested on the ISI Financial Sheet for an additional $5.00.

Parking will have limited availability in Lot 11, located on the corner of Madison and Court Street (with lot entrance on Madison St and Harrison St).

Parking will also be available in the Court Street Transportation Center located on the corner of Court Street and Dubuque St (380 S Dubuque St) and in the Old Capitol Town Center Garage located on the corner of Burlington S and Clinton St (253 S Clinton St).

Indemnity:

It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming and ISI shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.
