The School of Nursing at The Catholic University of America seeks to fill an approved part-time 10-month, Clinical Assistant Professor (Assistant Professor of Practice) position to begin Fall 2018.

The SON is CCNE accredited and has over 750 students enrolled in BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs. Our MSN, DNP, and PhD programs are also offered on-line. Minimum Qualifications: National certification as an Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care (PNP-AC) with more than two years of recent clinical experience; preferably earned nursing doctoral degree (PhD/DNP or equivalent), eligible for state licensure as a nurse practitioner, experience in teaching in nurse practitioner programs,academic administrative experience, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated ability to function effectively in large, complex organization and to work productively and collaboratively with individuals and groups.

Responsibilities:As faculty, the individual will work closely with the Director of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) program to collaborate in developing, delivering, and evaluating a new on-campus and on-line MSN PNP-AC program. The role will involve development of and teaching courses, evaluating student progression and program outcomes, and participating in campus residencies. The individual will also assist students with coordination of their clinical practicums. As the clinical coordinator, the faculty member will work closely with SON staff and faculty in identifying contractual needs, maintaining accurate contract files, and facilitating communication with health care agencies and preceptors. In addition, the individual is expected to participate in service requirements within the school, university, and professional organizations. Travel to campus and student sites will be required.
