CAPLAN FIELD

9 AM TO 5 PM

Clinic Description

The coaching staff at F&M invites you to attend our 2010 Fall Prospect Clinic on October 24, 2010 from 9 am to 5 pm. The camp will be designed to teach upper level baseball skills and advanced team concepts to high school prospects. The camp will also have a showcase segment and each player will play in one game on Caplan Field. Every camper will have his individual skills evaluated. The primary focus of the clinic will be on instruction. All players currently enrolled in high school are eligible for the camp.

Clinic Staff

The clinic staff will be led by Head Baseball Coach, Adam Taylor. Coach Taylor enters his third year at F&M. In his two years at F&M, the Diplomats have a record of 39-33-2 and finished second in the Centennial Conference with an appearance in the conference championship title game in 2009. Offensively, the Dips have been among the conference leaders in most offensive categories over the past two years. Prior to coming to Franklin and Marshall, Taylor spent 6 years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the Division 1 level.

Matt Scheuing is the pitching coach at F&M. A local product, Matt did his college pitching at Millersville. Matt is one of the best pitching coaches in the area. A pitcher for the Pennsylvania Road Warriors and a Lancaster County native, Scheuing concluded his fourth season in minor league baseball in 2006. In 2005, the lefthander was 6-6 with 52 strikeouts and a 5.29 earned run average in 26 starts for the Barnstormers, who completed their inaugural campaign with a 64-76 overall record, including a 37-33 Atlantic League second half mark.

Ryan Horning enters his third year as an assistant coach at F&M and came to Lancaster, PA from Cornell University where he served as the volunteer assistant coach. Ryan also served as the Head Coach for the Albany Dutchmen in the New York Collegiate Baseball League in 2009. Ryan will work primarily with the infielders and outfielders as well as assist Coach Taylor with the hitting instruction. In 2010, the Diplomats had a fielding percentage of .963 which led the Centennial Conference and set a school record.
