To the Seniors:
If felt good to get back to winning! We finished up 8-2 with our only 2 losses coming to 2 of the best teams in the state. This season was quite an improvement from the previous two seasons. That says a lot about you as football players, as seniors, and as individuals that believed your hard work would pay off. You never questioned if all the hard work would be worth it, you knew that in the long run it would pay off and it sure did.
You are a special class to me personally because of the journey you went through on your high school football career. You came in as freshmen and were a part of a very successful team, and then you experienced a couple of years where times were much leaner, which led to this season, your Senior year. You had experienced the highs and the lows and you knew you had only one season left . What this team accomplished exceeded everyone’s expectations. Your class is one of those rare classes that actually overachieved the expectations.
You will all truly be missed and my only hope is that our underclassmen learned what it takes to be a leader from your class. You have left your mark on Clifton-Clyde Eagle Football and that will never be taken away from.
Remember these words…the experiences from football have made you stronger, the friendships you created will never be broken, and the memories will be stories retold for the rest of your lives.
