Dear MsFryer

Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA)

I write in connection with your request for information, which was received by Nottinghamshire Police on 04/10/2010.

Following receipt of your request searches were conducted within Nottinghamshire Police to locate the information you require.

Please find below answers to your questions:-

RESPONSE

Under S 1 (1) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), I can confirm that Nottinghamshire Police does hold the information you have requested.

I am interested to know the statistics concerning incidents of drunk and disorderly behaviour in the Newark and district area and how these incidents were followed up.

Q1) How many incidents of drunk and disorderly behaviour were recorded in Newark in 2009/10?

Q2) Of these incidents, how many arrests were made?

Q3) Of the arrests that were made, how many received fixed penalty fines, and how many were summoned to court?

Q4) Are there any other areas of crime (e.g. shoplifting) where people have paid a fixed penalty instead of facing prosecution?

Clarification:

To clarify the earlier request from Nottinghamshire Police for more

information on what I meant by the Newark area, the area which I

mean is the Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood area.

Please note that the figures shown below are taken using Rowdy Incidents where Alcohol is a factor. This is because the system used to record this information cannot be searched byDrunk & Disorderly incidents.

With regard to question 4, Please be aware that these details relate the individual’s first offence only. One offender can be arrested for more than one offence and we are unable to distinguish from the result which offence the person received the fixed penalty for.

This data has been extracted from a live crime system and may be subject to change.
