MMM can help with electric bills, water bills, rent, prescriptions, and sometimes an extra ordinary request. Payments are made directly to the landlord, utility company or pharmacy once all of the information provided is verified and the Treasurer is notified that a distribution is to be made.

MMM also provides school supplies to students in August, a Thanksgiving turkey and a box of food in November, and Christmas gifts and a box of food in December. These special projects require a client to sign up in October for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The school counselors provide names of the needy children or a request can be made at the MMM office.

Emergency Home Energy Assistance Programs (E-HEAP)

E-HEAP is a winter heating program that operates from November to March. The program will pay a onetime payment up to $250.00 towards a bulk delivery of oil, propane, coal, or wood for households that have a 10 day or less supply. Households that heat with natural gas or electric and have a disconnect notice the maximum benefit is $175.00. You must meet Federal Income Guidelines and provide required documentation to qualify.

Required documentation:

*Proof of income for the last 13 weeks for all household income
*Electric Bill/Disconnect Notice

*Social Security Numbers and Birthdates for all household members
*If your heat is included in your rent you must provide a letter that states you control your own thermostat

E-HEAP also requires you to enroll in the Percentage of Income Payment Plan that will allow you to pay a small percentage of your monthly income to the electric company to avoid future disconnection.
