Dear Sir or Madam,

I am pleased to invite you to participate in the workshop dedicated to the “Bilateral Agreement between the European Community and the United States of America on Civil Aviation Safety (BASA EC/US)” to be held in the Youth Hostel (Jugendherberge), Siegesstr. 5, Cologne (Germany) on Monday, 13 November 2006.

The general objective of this workshop is to discuss issues surrounding the implementation of the BASA EC/US in Europe, and in particular the provisions of the agreement concerning airworthiness and environmental certification of aeronautical products (Annex I - IPA) and maintenance of aeronautical products and maintenance organisations (Annex II - MIP). The details of the programme are set out in the enclosure.

You are kindly requested to indicate your interest with the “registration form” (use word document enclosed), via e-mail, to by 13th October 2006. The workshop is only accessible to registered participants and you will receive confirmation of your attendance by 23rd October 2006, taking into account space availability and fair representation of all stakeholders.

Questions that the participants might have on subjects related to the workshop can be submitted via the “questions form” (use word document enclosed), to by 1st November 2006. They will be answered during the questions and answers session. Please note that due to the large amount of questions expected, the answers could be grouped by themes.

You will find on www.easa.europa.eu, section -about EASA/contact- an access map. The Youth Hostel is situated in front of the EASA Headquarters. Please note that transport and accommodation cost are at the participants own expenses. For additional information, please call +49 221 89990 5021.
