Classroom Guidelines:
Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. You will be treated with respect and are expectedto treat your peers and your teacher in a similar fashion.
To promote a positive and effective learning environment, the following class rules will be followed.
- Be prepared.
- Follow directions.
- Respect self, others and property.
- No eating or drinking in class without permission.
- Keep hands, feet, objects and negative remarks to yourself.
You are responsible for your own actions!
Homework:
Homework will be assigned as needed.
Tests:
Review materials will be sent home prior to each test. Students will receive 5 ADDITIONAL POINTS towards their test grade for returning the study guide signed by a parent or guardian on the day of the test. (Test taking strategies are required on every test!)
Absences:
The student is responsible for collecting make-up work from the teacher. The student has ONE WEEK to make up and turn in make-up work.
Classroom Supplies:
ALL SUPPLIES MUST BE TURNED IN BY Friday, AUGUST 29, 2017. All students are required to have the following supplies for Science:
4 spiral (70 pages)2bottle of Elmer’s glue2pack of map pencilsscissors
**Special Note: Students are considered prepared for class when they are SITTING IN THEIR SEAT and have the following: pencil and Science journal.
Late Work:
There will be a 10 point deduction from late work per day. After 3 days, the assignment is a ZERO. For every day a student is absent, they will have the same amount of days to make up that work.
Cheating:
Cheating will not be tolerated. A ZERO will be given.
Cell Phones/MP3 Players:
Cell phones will only be utilized at the discretion of the teacher. Please turn them off before coming into class and keep them in your bag. Cell phones/MP3 players must be surrendered to the teacher if they are exposed in class without permission.
Tutorials:
Tutorials are available during the school day. Tutorials are mandatory for students who are failing.

Percentages for Science are as follows:
45 % Summative Assessments
55% Formative Assessments
