  • Straight Edge/Ruler
  • Pens and pencils
  • Calculator—scientific will work for most units but a TI-83, TI-83 Plus, or TI-84 Graphing Calculator is recommended.

ABSENTEEISM:

Upon return to class, students need to check the Missed Work Tray. Each student is responsible for getting missed notes. A copy of completed notes for each unit can be found on Mrs. Bluman’s Teacher Webpage.

PROGRESS REPORTS:

Progress reports will be available at each quarter’s 5-week point on the Student/Parent Portal of Infinite Campus. Grades will be updated on a regular basis so please check often to see missing assignments and ongoing average.

QUIZZES:

  • Unitquizzes are listed on each unit outline in order of occurrence.
  • Any student failing a unit quiz will be required to remediate and retake the quiz within 2 days.
  • Adisciplinary referral will be written for neglecting to requiz (insubordination) resulting in a school detention.
  • All students are eligible to requiz. The better of the two grades will be recorded in the gradebook.

HOMEWORK:

  • A Homework Set(s) will be issued for each unit with an assigned turn-in date. The homework set will coincide in the order of each lesson learned.
  • Homeworkwill be graded on accuracy. Any homework set not turned in on the due date will lose 10 points per day.
  • After the third late day, the student will be assigned a 10th Period Classroom Detention to complete the homework set; however, the homework set may still be turned in any time prior to the detention date for credit earned minus late points to avoid the 10th period detention.
  • A failure to attend the classroom detention will result in a disciplinary referral for the class cut. A grade of zero percent will be recorded in the gradebook.
  • Any student earning a grade of less than 65 must remediate the homework setby an assigned date. Failure to do so will result in a disciplinary referralwritten for neglecting to remediate (insubordination) resulting in a school detention.

TESTS:

  • Cumulative tests that are designed to model the Geometry Common Core will be given after completion of every unit.
  • A Midterm will be given at the end of the 1st Semester.
  • A Geometry Common Core/Regents Final Exam will be given at the end of the school year.
  • All students are required to complete all assessments.

EXTRA HELP:

We are available before and after school each day as well as certain periods during the day. Students should make arrangements for specific times for extra help.
