- The educational advisor position will provide a direct and welcoming resource at Bakersfield College for adult learners in the Greater Bakersfield area. The educational advisor will provide adult learners direct access to support in matriculation into Bakersfield College. That includes applying, orientation, assessment, counseling, and registration. As part of the one-stop shop, the educational advisor will also support the program manager in outreach efforts conducted to the adult learner population. Ultimately, this advisor will be the connection that will hopefully transition more adult education students into the community college system.

- The educational advisor is a component of the Adult Education Block Grant-Greater Bakersfield plan. The strategic goal that will be addressed with this position is that of “student progression and completion.” We expect that this individual will support the one-stop shop with Bakersfield Adult School, by providing access and completion services to adult education students. The funding for this position has been allocated on the grant budget.
