CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL POLICY COMMITTEE
October 11, 2016
MEMBERS PRESENT: Jewelette Courtney, Geraldine Rowdy, Mary Snowden, Pamela Key, Dexter Lee,
Charles Robinson
MEMBERS ABSENT: Natasha Turley
Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jewelette Courtney. Minutes from September meeting were read. Motion by Pamela Key that minutes be approved and it was second by Geraldine Rowdy.
School Calendar – Both Ms. Key and Ms. Rowdy questioned why classified employees are not included in the voting or have any input in preparation of the school calendar. Ms. Courtney pointed out that according to the policy we should have input.
Since we do have new members, Ms. Courtney stated she is going to check with our Unisource Rep to see if and when she would be available to come and train on the purpose and responsibilities of the CPPC.
Old Business:
(a)Update on Classified Employees Lunches/Breaks – Mr. Lee is checking on this and will let us know results.
(b)Equity/Salary Schedule – (Dr. Robinson is checking previous board minutes to see what was decided in regards to type of salary schedule.) Ms. Courtney gave a brief history of the Equity Salary that is now being used as the salary schedule for the Classified Employees. At this time we are still waiting on the findings of Dr. Robinson.
(c)RIF Update – Clerical Recall – we are down to Nikita Seahorn(2 years).
Security Recall – down to Brittany Brown.
(d)Update on Policy Assignments:
Mr. Robinson reported on Sick Leave, Sick Leave Bank, Evaluations. Noted that did not feel we would be able to merge procedures for evaluations for both classified and certified employees.
New Business:
(a)CPPC Communication Form – Forms were distributed for review and will be decided upon
at the next meeting.
(b)Posting of Meeting Minutes/Copies of PBSD Board of Directors verses G-Mail – Ms. Key brought up the question - what about employees who do not have access to computers or
those who are computer illiterate. It was suggested by Ms. Courtney that a proposal to Dr. Robinson be submitted regarding having training sessions for employees.
(c)Time in Title verses Time in District – Ms. Courtney asked members to review and study

(c) And also survey people you represent to see which they prefer the district use time in title or time in district. It was also suggested that we check state policy to see how it is
covered.
Questions, Concerns or Issues – Summer Employment – It was suggested by Mr. Lee that our
Committee do a proposal for summer employment to be offered within district first before
contracting outside of district.
