Classification Search Tool

The Classification Search Tool is an electronic tool which allows users to conduct key word searches against national control lists and the harmonized tariff code list. The tool is installed locally on a server and can be accessed using a web browser.

During deployment, EXBS not only translates the interface into the local language, but can tailor the tool to be used with any control lists of the users choose. The tool comes with the EU control lists by default, but any control lists, both international and domestic, can be loaded into the database. The Classification Search Tool’s parser allows users to easily update the Search Tool’s database when a new version of the control list is available.

If using the EU Control Lists, the Classification Search Tool also cross-indexing functionality between the EU lists and the Harmonized Tariff Codes list. This allows users to more easily identify items’ tariff codes once a commodity code has been identified.

The Classification Search Tool can be deployed as a stand-alone tool to be used by both government and industry, but is also included in Internal Control Program deployments.
