CLASS TITLE:INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS CONSULTANT MANAGER - SES

This is professional work managing the planning, analysis, design, development and implementation of complex, mission-critical information technology systems for agencies of the State of Florida. This position directs, manages, coordinates, establishes, supervises, and ensures that consultant work is completed. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets.

  • Develops policies, procedures, practices and methods for utilizing complex, mission critical technology applications.
  • Coordinates and plans for the development of subsystems in complex, mission-critical technology applications.
  • Serves as consultant to management in the planning, design and maintenance of complex, mission-critical technology applications.
  • Consults with project teams and administrators on systems and IT service requests to identify needed resources and potential approaches to problem solutions.
  • Consults with users to gather information and determine business functional requirements for implementation of complex, mission critical technology applications
  • Coordinates changes recommended by project teams and the development of corollary training or support for systems implementation.
  • Conducts major systems studies to determine requirements for implementation of a complex, mission-critical technology applications or related subsystem.
  • Directs and/or supervisors other professional staff in planning, analysis, design and implementation of mission-critical information technology systems and applications.
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of the systems design, programming and implementation.
  • Coordinates the preparation of systems plans, reports of recommendations, and business system functional specifications.
  • Establishes priorities for systems development.
  • Supervises the help desk function or assistance to users of complex, mission critical technology applications in resolution of questions or problems, including training for users in the operation of systems.
  • Supervises the work done by the lower level consultants.
  • Performs related work as required.
