CLASS TITLE:INFORMATION SPECIALIST III - SES

This is work designing, coordinating and conducting comprehensive multimedia public relations and information services programs to include exercising independent judgment in handling media inquiries and news releases; or work designing, coordinating, and conducting a comprehensive photographic services program.

  • Analyzes information and public relations needs of agencies and client groups.
  • Exercises independent judgment in handling media inquiries and news releases.
  • Researches materials and writes articles for publication and/or dissemination.
  • Coordinates the planning, preparation and dissemination of news releases, news letters, speeches and materials to support information and public relation activities.
  • Plans and produces photographs and slides.
  • Analyzes photographic needs and designs a comprehensive program to meet these needs.
  • Coordinates the taking and producing of a variety of photographs.
  • Provides technical assistance to other staff regarding photographic services.
  • Conducts interviews for news articles.
  • Coordinates press conferences, displays and special events.
  • Responds to complaints, inquiries, information requests and other correspondence.
  • Researches newspaper articles and/or radio and television news and public affairs broadcasts for information of interest to the agency.
  • Determines material requirements for information programs.
  • Directs, develops and coordinates film, radio show and television spot announcements.
  • Provides technical assistance to other staff members and clients on information and public relations matters.
  • Conducts workshops, seminars and classes.
  • Performs related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
