Senior Week has been a St. Lawrence tradition that not only allows Seniors to celebrate their time at SLU, but also to interact as a class for the last time. Along with the hard work of class councils, the continued support and generosity of the Thelomathesian Society, this tradition has been allowed to continue and prosper throughout the years.

Our class council has worked diligently over the years to fundraise money and plan fun events for Senior Week. Every year, we have managed to fundraise at least $2,000. This year, we will exceed this amount, as we have hosted a Silent Auction and are still in the process of selling croakies, sandals and shirts.

During Senior Week, we will be hosting the traditional FYP Reunions, Quad Experience and Last Lecture, in addition to the Senior Dinner Dance, last Senior Blues and Tick Tock parties. We have also planned a BBQ at the Townhouses, a Family Luau Dinner and a Rafting Trip. Below is an estimate of our expenses and how much we are requesting, as well as information about past Senior Class Council expenditures.

Estimated amount of activities = $59,609.50

Amount in Class of 2006 account = $29,964.68

Amount requested = $20,000

Amount requested by Class of 2005 = $20,000.00
Total spent by Class of 2005 = $40,590.00

Amount requested by Class of 2004 = $7, 952.20

Total spent by Class of 2004 = $39,982.00

Amount requested by Class of 2003 = $27,156.08

There are also a few important things to keep in mind when considering our request. Most of this cost goes towards paying for food at all the events. The cost of food is considerable since we have to employ the services of Dining Services, which is rather expensive. However, the cost of the Dinner Dance is not calculated in this estimate, as we sell tickets for this event that cover the cost of the dinner.

The cost of alcohol is covered through the sale of Senior Week bracelets, so none of the money received from Thelmo will go towards paying for alcohol.

For a more detailed list of our projected costs, please refer to the budget outline on the next page.
