St. Thomas Aquinas of Fort Lauderdale, the two-time Class AAAAA champion in Florida, is No. 1.
The ranked Georgia teams are:
  • No. 11 Lowndes
  • No. 40 CamdenCounty
  • No. 52 Peachtree Ridge
  • No. 73 Grayson
  • No. 96 Northside (Warner Robins)
Lowndes also is No. 11 in the ESPN Rise preseason rankings. CamdenCounty is No. 33.
Hebert takes over at GAC
Greater Atlanta Christian's new quarterback is Beaux Hebert, the son of former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Bobby Hebert. Aside from the unrealistic expectations that might be put on the son, Beaux Hebert also must replace the good quarterback GAC had last season in Colton Chapple. "Beaux is more of a touch passer," GAC coach Ken Robinson told Brandon Brigman in this story for the Gwinnett Daily Post. "He brings some other things to the table that you like about him. He has a poise about him. His teammates really, really like him. He brings a sense of calmness to the huddle."
