Information Text Hybrid – to write a page of a magazine about a car linking forces in science and DT.
Maths / Week 1: Algebra and missing number sequences.
Week 2: Algebra with coordinates and the transformation of shapes.
Week 3: Measurement, temperature and mean.
Week 4: Calculating with fractions
Week 5: Mental and written division
Week 6: Mental and written multiplications
Science / Forces – link with DT to explore friction, gravity and air resistance. Use their knowledge to design and make a racing car. Explore gears and how they work.
Religious Education / Islam: How does our sense of responsibility affect our life’s journey? The five pillars of Islam
History / Baghdad 900AD Inventors and their inventions. Look at why Baghdad rose to be the city of great minds and the formation of the House of Wisdom.

Computing / Malware – what is it and what can we do to prevent it?
Algorithms – a link to history with the invention of algebra and using algorithms to make a programme detailing instructions.
Physical Education / Gymnastics with Graham Haydock

Citizenship / Being assertive, confident and working as a team. Core Skills.

Art and Design / To design and make a car with gears to travel over a specific terrain. To understand how forces act upon a moving vehicle and to design a car to with the specification given by another person.
