MINUTES

The seventh annual meeting of the Briarwood Commissioners was held Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Meadow Vale City Hall. Mayor Mike McGrath called the meeting to order.

OATH OF OFFICE

Mayor Mike McGrath, Commissioners Mike Schlegel, Liz McGrath, Heather Levitch, and Chip Cavallaro, Attorney Stan Chauvin III, and Treasurer Laura Litkea were all sworn into office by Judge McKay Chauvin.

MINUTES

For December minutes, corrections made to November corrections on second line and names of Ethics Committee nominees added. Recommendation made to create draft versions of minutes. Request to send minutes on a Word doc rather than in Excel. On a MOTION by Chip Cavallaro and SECONDED by Mike Schlegel, the December minutes were approved. MOTION CARRIED.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Heather questions amount for holiday lights and payment from City of Briarwood to Dove Creek I. On a MOTION by Liz McGrath and SECONDED by Mike Schlegel, the December treasurer’s report was approved. MOTION CARRIED.

BUDGET AMENDMENTS

Move $1500 from admin expense, put $1000 of that to park cutting and $500 to park repair. Move $500 from park activities and put that to park repair. On a MOTION by Chip Cavallaro and SECONDED by Heather Levitch, the budget amendments were approved. MOTION CARRIED.

OLD BUSINESS

·  Trash was picked up at Chips on 12/27/14 and 1/9/15. Marcellase added that big brown cans are to be taken to the curb.

·  Stan has returned. Letter regarding tree at 2000 Japonica was sent.

·  Mike has not spoken to owners regarding 2009 Japonica stump.

·  No further action on tree split at 2016 Japonica.

·  Stump on 2006 Cedarcrest needs a letter to be sent.

·  Danna having medical problems.

NEW BUSINESS

·  Budget amendments discussed – see above. Bathroom sinks in park can be used, but need new hardware. There are two park lights that are not working.

·  No police report received yet.

·  Discussed street parking. Police can give citations, but there are no signs posted at this time.

·  No new information on annexation of property across Westport Road.

The next regular meeting will be Monday, February 2, 2015.

On a MOTION by Liz McGrath and SECONDED by Mike Schlegel, the meeting was adjourned.
