C5 Removable skin/tile snaps on/offor uses a cleat to be put on or take off the panel frame. All skin clips and rails shouldbe attached to the skins for minimum parts and rigidity. Light seals on segmented skins to be integral part of skin. Metal attachment clips to be factory installed for added strength.
C6 Skins should be reconfigurable and can be relocated from an upper to a lower section (or vice versa) on the frame for maximum reuse during reconfigurations.
C7 Must be able to field cut tackable skins to locate and access power and data receptacles to reduce additional skin/tile purchases during future changes and/or power additions.
Mandatory Specification
C8 Panel frame must accommodate Monolithic (single skin) or Segmented skins on one or both sides of panel for aesthetic and lower long-term cost management.
Mandatory Specification
C9 Metal trim on top cap, corner trim and base. Knockouts in base trim for electrical and data on both sides of panel required for future changes.
C10 Panel Top Caps, Corner Trim, and Base are Steel and attach to the Panel with Spring Steel Clips (no tool required)
C11 Panel Horizontal Frame should be a Quick Cam Assembly (no fasteners)
C12 System available skin types for future configurations: tackable/acoustic, painted steel, perforated steel, textured steel, marker board, glass, laminate & natural veneer.
C13 Interior panel frame should be 16 ga. (.059) minimum tubular steel frame. When skins are removed the center of frame is open.
C14 Each frame should have multiple routing holes for power and data to be managed and distributed horizontally delivering separation starting at the base in increments of 8-16".
This separates phone and data cables as well as low and high security lines.
C15 Cavity/trough located under top cap for cable lay-in distribution for easy initial installation and future additions.
C16 Light seals and gaskets are integrated between panels not to be visible or obvious. A clean aesthetic is desired without extra parts or handling during installation. Gaskets not to block the use of the vertical slots on frame for hang-on components.
C17 Frame should support adjustment of components and worksurfaces in 1" increments.
Slots start just above base cavity and continue all the way to top of panel frame. If stacking junctions are used, slots are continuous.
C18 Panelshould include any and all required extra rigidizers or ganging plates that are required to help stability and to minimize panel and component deflection.
C19 Panel Power and Data: Ability to locate power and data at worksurface height for user access,
C20 Includes power-in to cluster without using a receptacle location.
C21 Be able to route power and data in through the bottom of panel without seeing power harness from a core location or raised floor.
C22 Must have 4-circuit 8-wire electrical distribution system capability and optional electrical duplex 20A rated capability.
Mandatory Specification
C23 Power kits to be available in various locations for flexible configurations, including: 1) at the base, 2) just above the base (out of the way of vacuum cleaners), 3)ADA height / below worksurface, 4) at worksurface, or 5) standing height & bin/shelf height.
C24 The same power kit works in all location heights in a panel and can be relocated without additional parts/brackets/sku's or cost.
C25 Power, Voice & Data can be face mounted & accessed from both sides of panel (back to back), at chosen access height.
C26 UL Listing: Furniture UL1286 (office furniture wiring) and UL 183 (manufactured modular electrical) housed in a robust flexible metallic conduit.
C27Data Cabling: Lay-in in both base and under top cap in cavity.
C28 Other routing capabilities i.e.. Every 8", 12", 16" increments vertically.
C29 Ability to route cable from top cap cavity down to base cavity.
C30 For future configuration if power poles are required, power poles shouldbe able to attach to top of panel, not on end of run or at corners to minimize panel creep at connections.
C31 Panel Planning Types - On-Modular
Spine panels and wing/fin panels are identical performance (one panel for all situations). No mixing of panels types (i.e. standard & stacked, beltway, conventional and enhanced) to help with reconfiguration and conversion of non-powered to a powered panel.
C32 Panel Planning Types - Off-Modular
If needed per floor plans/site conditions - same panel types required:
(a) Off- Modular fin panel should be able to be at both a lower height vs. spine and same height as spine.
(b) Off-modular connections do not deface spine panel at the same or change of height
(c) Off-modular panel attachment does not block access to lay-in cabling of spine wall at the base or beltway in any configuration.
(d) Off-mod panels to support bins and shelves.
C33 Panels allow for 90 degree and 120 degree planning.
