Objectives:
The student will identify three short term consequences of binge drinking.
The student will list three possible reasons why someone engages in binge drinking.
The student will develop a “top ten” reasons not to binge drink poster with a group of no more than 4 students to be displayed around the school.

20 minutes / Go through the 8 reasons on slides 4-11. Include student discussion. / Remain with partner / Partners list five OTHER things a student could do rather than drink.
5 minutes / Show video on binge drinking / Remain in pairs / Students write down short term consequences of binge drinking as they are watching the video
10 minutes / Combine your pair with another group. Using the video and your knowledge, what are some of the consequences of binge drinking? / Remain in groups / Students write down their consequences of binge drinking with their partner/group.

5 minutes / What could YOU do when frustrated or angry or rebellious rather than drink? / Individually / Students write down at least 4 healthy alternatives on their own paper or in notebook.

15 minutes / Brain storm - What can WE ALL do to help others with binge drinking? / Each group makes a poster of 10 reasons not to binge drink. These can be displayed in classroom or hallways.
