6201 Winnetka Avenue, Woodland Hills.

Directions: Intersection of Winnetka Ave. and Ventura Freeway,

north on Winnetka Ave., 3/4 mile to Calvert Street,

left (West) to college.

TIME: PRELIMINARIES (Thursday, November 12, 2015)

The time schedule below is tentative and is subject to change, heats and times will be determined by the amount of qualifiers in each division. Division III will be a final only, racing on

Saturday, November 21, 2015.

*There shall be no competition or racing on the course other than what is listed on the championship racing schedule at the City Prelims or Finals. Any violation of this rule will result in the disqualification of the school’s entire list of qualified teams and athletes.

LEAGUE FINALS MEETS AND DETERMINING LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

Please check CIF website for locations and times for League Meets. Finals must be completed by November 6, 2015 and results sent into the Section Office. Results must be sent by Friday, 6, 8:00pm to Tina Tamura via e-mail in Hy-tek to .

EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN

Host schools are required to have an emergency action plan in place for athletic events. Should you require additional information go to www.cif-la.org for “Event Emergency Guidelines” information.

QUALIFYING FOR PRELIMINARIES

Varsity- Qualifying from League Finals to City Pre-lims:

The top three teams out of each league final meet based on team finish at the league final championships will qualify for City- Prelims. In addition any team that was ranked on the top 10 in the CIF LA City Cross Country rankings in 2 of the last 3 rankings will also qualify for the City Prelims as an at-large entry. We will fill Division 1 and 2 up to 20 teams for City Prelims as at-large based on their team time from league finals.

Any individuals who finish in the top ten at their respective League Final Meet will qualify as an individual for the City-Prelim Meet.

* Division III races will be a finals only racing on Saturday, November 21, 2015.

PRELIMINARY HEATS

Schools must put a minimum of five (5) runners on the starting line in order to participate in the Prelims or Finals. With prior notification (at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of a race), schools with less than five runners present may request Meet Management to allow those runners who would have qualified from the previous round as individuals to compete. Teams will be seeded into their prelim heats based on their team time from league finals and could be adjusted based on their rankings and invitational performances.

QUALIFYING FOR FINALS

Varsity- Qualifying from City Pre-lims to City Finals:

For Each Division - The first four teams in each of the two heats to finish, will qualify for the City finals plus the next best 3 teams based on team time at the City Prelim meet. If there are three heats, the first three teams in each of the heats plus the next 2 teams based on team time will qualify for City Finals.

In each of the three Divisions, any individual who finishes in the top ten in their Prelim heat, whose team does not qualify, will qualify as an individual for City Finals.

Junior Varsity and Frosh/Soph- Qualifying from League Finals to City Finals:

The top ten teams based on team time at the League Finals, regardless of division, will qualify for the City Finals (must have a minimum of five and maximum of seven runners).

The top ten runners based on time from all of the League Final meets not on a qualifying team will also qualify.

Runners who competed at the Varsity level at league finals or City Prelims may not compete at the Junior Varsity or Frosh/Soph Finals at City Finals.

QUALIFYING FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The CIF State Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Woodard Park in Fresno.

The top two teams in the Boys’ and Girls’ Division I as well as a maximum of five (5) individuals on non-qualifying teams who finish in the first twelve (12) actual places will qualify.

The top team in Boys’ and Girls’ Division II as well as a maximum of five (5) individuals on non-qualifying teams who finish in the first eight (8) actual places will qualify.

The winner of the Division III (there must be a minimum of eight (8) teams on the starting line for the winner to advance) as well as a maximum of five (5) individuals on non-qualifying teams who finish in the first eight (8) actual places will qualify.

COMPETITORS’ IDENTIFICATION

In the Preliminaries, all runners will wear a computer label securely fastened to the upper right portion of their jersey.

In the Finals, all runners will wear numbers bibs with a tear-off portion at the bottom. The number tear-off will be used as the primary scoring system.

It is the Coaches responsibility to make sure that all competitors name and grade level are correct.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Rules and Regulations Governing Interscholastic Athletics Rules (Note Cross Country Section Rules)

"In league and city finals, each school that enters a junior varsity team must enter a

varsity team. The varsity team must be composed of the squad's top five junior and

senior runners as determined by league dual meet times. If Frosh/Soph runners are

entered in the varsity or junior varsity race, their times must be included under the

top five runners rule for varsity entries."

NUMBER OF ENTRIES

Each school may enter seven runners in all divisions.

AWARDS

VARSITY: Medals for first FIFTEEN individuals to finish and medals for seven members (BOYS & GIRLS) of the first through fifth place teams.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Medals for the first TEN individuals to finish and medals for seven members

(BOYS & GIRLS) of the first place team.

FROSH/SOPH Medals for the first TEN individuals to finish and medals for seven members

(BOYS & GIRLS) of the first place team

Team Plaques will be awarded to the championship and runner-up teams in the Varsity Boys and Girls Divisions.

ADMISSION CHARGE

Admission will be charged for all spectators at both the Prelims and Finals.

Students and Senior Citizens (with ID) $5.00

Children 4 and under Free

DRESSING QUARTERS

No dressing quarters are available at Pierce College. Contestants are to dress at schools.

SHOES

No spiked shoes are permitted.

MEDICAL ATTENDANT

A medical attendant will be in attendance and will be assigned by the Meet Manager.

SUPERVISION

All coaches must know where their runners are at all times. They are not to be on the main campus area at anytime. Restroom facilities are located next to the snack bar on the northwest side of the football stadium.

Restrooms are to be kept clean and neat. Please emphasize these matters to your team. Failure to do so may result in coaches, students and schools paying for the damage.

PARKING

There will be a parking fee this year, please use the meters.

T-SHIRTS

Cross Country Championship T-shirts and other championship apparel will be on sale at both the Preliminaries and Finals.

STEREO "NOISE" PROHIBITED

Only radios/tape/CD players with earphones are permitted at championship events.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

If there is any doubt that the meets will be held or not, Emails will be sent out to coaches and to the AD’s. Information will also be on the CIF Los Angeles City Section website. www.cif-la.org. Dates, time and/or course could be altered.

WARMING UP ON THE COURSE

No teams or individuals may use the competitive cross country course for warm-up or inspection once the first race of the day (either prelim or finals) has begun. The trail must be kept completely clear of non-competitors and spectators during the time period races are scheduled. Athletes who violate this policy will be disqualified immediately from further competition.
