CHS HOCKEY GIRLS 16 YEARS AND UNDER SELECTION INFORMATION

(PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION CAREFULLY)

HOCKEY SELECTION TRIALS INFORMATION

Closing date for nominations: 8th April 2016

Trials Date: Sunday May 15th

Trials Venue: Central Coast Grammar School (Arundel Road, Erina Heights)

Time: commencing at 800am

The NSW All Schools Girls 16 years and under Hockey team will compete in the School Sport Australia Hockey Championships to be held in Melbourne 6th–13th August2016.

Girls who successfully gain selection plus the shadow players will be expected to attend a training camp in July. Attendance at the camp is required and takes priority over participation inany otherhockey carnival. Cost/Venue of the camp TBA.

The anticipated levy for each team member will be in the range of $1500-2000 based on present cost factors, and is variable depending on apparel purchases.

SELECTION PROCEDURE (Government School Students only)

Girls will be required to nominate and must meet at least one of the Selection Criteria (listed below). Two squads of 16 players will be selected, based on information that is submitted on the nomination form. Girls will be notified via email if they have been successful in being selected. (PLEASE FILL IN AN EMAIL ADDRESS THAT IS CHECKED REGULARLY) The two squads will be invited to attend the NSW All Schools Hockey trials to be held on Sunday 15th May 2016atCentral Coast Grammar School (Arundel Road, Erina Heights).ONLY INVITED GIRLS WILL BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND THE TRIALS.

SELECTION CRITERIA– if you do not meet any of these you cannot nominate.

The criteria for selection are as follows:-

•NSW U/15 2015 Team/Squad

•NSW All Schools Team 2015

•NSWIS/HNSW Centre Of Development /AAP2015

•ACT/VIC/QLD U/15 2015 Team/Squad

•Regional Academy of Sport Squad2015

•Sydney Metro Academy Squad2015

ELIGIBILITY

Players must be 16 years of age and under in 2016 (must not attain the age of 17 years during 2016).

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

All travel and accommodation arrangements for selection trials are the responsibility of the player and their parents.

PLEASE NOTE

There will be no half state trials this year to select this team

Medical Insurance: Parents please note there is no personal injury insurance cover provided by the NSW Department of Education and Communities for students in relation to school sporting activities, physical education lessons or any other school activity. Parents and caregivers are advised to assess the level and extent of their child’s involvement in the sport program offered by the school, school sport zone, Regional and state school sport associations when deciding whether additional insurance cover, above that provided by Medicare, is required. Personal accident insurance cover is available through normal retail insurance outlets. The NSW Supplementary Sporting Injuries Benefits Scheme, funded by the NSW Government, covers any injury resulting in the permanent loss of a prescribed faculty or the use of some prescribed part of the body.
