Many thanks to the BRG committee for the invitation to judge the puppy classes at the Christmas Cracker. It was a fun day where everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I very much enjoyed the event. Also a big thanks to Terry and Lily Hannan for stewarding and to Hazy for taking my notes.
I was very pleased with my entry and the overall standard of the classes was excellent. The baby puppy classes were not judged, but they were a delight and there were quite a few with lots of promise.
I was asked to judge the junior handling classes and was encouraged to see so much young talent. Keep going young ones; we need you for the future!
Class One Long Coat Special Puppy Bitch
VP1 ImpranahFlavia (ConbhairanWaro x Impranah Razzamatazz)
Flavia is a large, expressive, black and tan female with excellent pigmentation. She has a strong but feminine head with dark eyes. She has excellent proportions with a good reach of neck. Very good fore and hind angulation. She has a high wither, a very good top line as well as a long well angled croup. She stands correct but elbows must tighten when moving towards, correct moving away. She demonstrates a strikingly ground covering, fluent gait with effective length of stride. This female impressed at every stage, her excellent overall construction and presentation made her the clear winner of this class.
VP2 Cruaghaire Guinevere (HazrohUlk x CruaghaireDruantia)
Guinevere is a medium size, expressive, black and tan female with good pigmentation with a dark eye. She has a high wither, firm back with a long but steep croup. The upper arm is a good length but needs to be better angled. She has good rear angulation and is clean in front she also has a good underline. Moving soundly in front and behind. On the move she demonstrates good hind thrust, the front reach should be rather freer.

Klyde is a large, medium strong, black and tan male with dark eyes. He has a good length and lay of croup. He is slightly short in proportions. His upper arm is of good length but needs to be better angled. He is sound coming and going. On the move he has effective hind thrust but tends to raise his back. He has been grated as Promising because his ears need to be considerably firmer.
P2 Dahlmann Balboa (DjambovomFitchenschlag x Conbhairean Coco vomDahlmann)
Balboa is a medium size, medium strong, expressive, black and tan male with good pigmentation and dark eyes. He is correct in proportions. He has a short upper arm that is well angled. On the move he has effective hind thrust and has good reach but tends to lift tail and drops on the forehand.

Bianca is an medium size, expressive, black and tan female with a feminine head and dark eyes. She is of very good proportions with a good reach of neck. She has a high wither with a good top and underline which flows on to a long croup. Her upper arm is of good length and is well angled. She has very good hind angulation. She moves soundly in front but she is a little close behind. She demonstrates a very powerful gait with very good length of stride and very good presentation. I believe that she will have a bright future.
VP2 Kassieger Antonia (IlianovomFichtenschlag x KassiegerRenata)
Antonia is a large, expressive, black and tan female with very good pigmentation . She has a feminine head with dark eyes. She is of correct proportions with a good top and underline. She has a good length of croup which is well angled. She moves soundly in front but slightly close behind. On the move she demonstrates good movement with a good length of stride.

Class Four Minor Puppy Dog
VP1 Blerio Frankel (Santos od Petkovica x BlerioSascha)
Frankel is a large, medium strong, expressive, black and tan male. He is correctly proportioned and has pronounced general firmness. His high wither flows into a very good top line, the croup is well mouldedand is of good length and lay. His upper arm is of good length but could be slightly better angled. His soundness on the walk is particularly praiseworthy. On the move he demonstrates effective hind thrust and he retains his outline but the front reach should be somewhat freer. This male was the clear winner of the class with his good ring presence and presentation.
VP2 DalhmannBeppo (DjambovomFichtenschlag x Conbhairean Coco vomDalhmann)
Beppo is a large, strong, expressive, substantial, black and tan male with excellent pigmentation and dark eyes. He is correctly proportioned with very good chest formation. He has a high wither which flows into a good top line, the croup is of good length and lay. He moves closely behind and the elbows need to firm slightly. He demonstrates a good ground covering gait with effective hind thrust, he tends to lift his tail which detracts from the whole picture of this male.

Zapora is a absolutely medium size, strong, expressive, feminine sable female with good pigmentation and dark eyes. She is of correct proportions with a good top and under line. She has a high wither, the upper arm is of good length but should be better angled. The croup is of good length and lay. She moves soundly in front and behind. On the move she demonstrates good effective hind thrust but the reach should be slightly freer. This female has great presentation and caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring.
VP2 AntilliNanci (Gordon du Clos de Patmisand x Alexis ausFamkesZauberwald)
Nanci is large, medium strong, expressive, feminine, black and tan female with good pigmentation and dark eyes. She is of correct proportions with a good top line but a slightly tucked up underline. The wither is high, her upper arm is of good length but needs to be better angled. Her croup is of good length but is slightly steep. She is sound in both coming and going. In movement she demonstrates effective hind thrust and good reach.

Ballack is a large, substantial, expressive, black and tan male with good pigmentation and dark eyes. He is of excellent proportions, high wither with a very harmonious top line. He has a good length and angle of the croup. His upper arm is of good length but should be slightly better angled, very good hind angulation. Coming towards he is absolutely correct, going away his hocks should be slightly firmer. On the move he demonstrates a very effective hind thrust with very good length of stride. I am sure this male has a bright future a head of him.
VP2 Antilli Nevada (Gordon du Clos de Patmisand x Alexis ausFamkesZauberwald)
Nevada is a large, substantial, expressive, black and tan male, with good pigmentation and dark eyes. Shown in very good condition. He has a good head as well as a high wither, good top line and underline and a long, well angled croup. The upper arm is of good length but should be better angled. Moving slightly close behind the hocks have not achieved their final firmness, coming the front is correct. On the move he demonstrates good forward reach with effective hind thrust, this male is slightly busy in movement.
