Christ Renews His Parish

1. What is CRHP?

“Christ Renews His Parish” (CRHP) centers on a renewal weekend and stresses a clear focus on Jesus Christ. It emphasizes continued growth in a Christian life of prayer, spiritual growth, and gospel service. The weekend retreat offers an excellent opportunity to meet other people in our parish.

2. What happens on theweekend?

The weekend is an opportunity to hear and discuss how Catholics function in our modern, complex, fast-paced society. The renewal weekend provides an opportunity for individual spiritual growth through prayer and personal reflection. You can share conversation and thoughts (as much or as little as you desire) with others in the parish. The process is centered on reflections by team members with some small group discussions and activities. The weekend offers an opportunity for you to respond to a call for a closer and deeper relationship with Christ.

3. Who may attend?

CRHP is open to all St. Thomas More adult parishioners.

4. When and where do these weekends take place?

The CRHP weekend takes place duringLent of each year at St. Thomas More Parish. See the back of this brochure for dates and phone numbers to get more information.

5. How long do weekends last?

The weekend begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday and will end early Sunday afternoon.

6. Who will invite me?

You are invited by this flyer. You may also be invited by announcements at Mass, through the parish bulletin, or by someone in the parish who knows you.

If you have an interest in CRHP and a desire to strengthen your spiritual life, take this opportunity to attend a weekend.

7. What about the sacraments?

Mass will be celebrated on Sunday at 10 AM with St. Thomas More parishioners and you will have an opportunity for reconciliation on Saturday night, if you desire this sacrament.

8. What type of clothes do I bring for this weekend?

Casual and comfortable clothing is appropriate for Saturday and Sunday.

9. Where do I sleep?

At your own home or at the STM “Hilton”. Sleeping accommodations are private classrooms in the STM school building. You are asked to bring your own sleeping bag, or other bedding, and pillow along with your own towel, soap and toiletries you might need. Cots and air mattresses are available. You may bring your own if you wish.

10. What about meals?

Meals are provided by the St. Thomas More community. There are regular breaks for coffee, soft drinks, and snacks.

If you have a special diet, please let us know when you register so we will be able to provide for your needs.

11. Who conducts this weekend?

A CRHP team is made up of a spiritual director and other parishioners who have attended previous weekends. This team is continuing the renewal process by presenting a weekend to a new group of parish members.

The weekend can be taken as a renewal experience with no further commitments. However, many participants choose to become members of a new team.
