· Council enhancement box explained and passed around
· Reading of Minutes of Previous Meeting – They were approved as written
o Report of Admission Committee/Reading of Applications: Potential members: Avelino Ortiz, transferred from the Philippines (can use a ride to meetings)
o Robert Daniel Johnson and Jerry R. Cacnio applying for membership,Tom Hughes proposed both. Manny Padilla made motion to accept approved.
o
· Reading of Receipts: $270 purchase Christmas magnets. All bills are approved.

· Reading of Bills and Communications – Letter from City of Chino Hills regarding the 20 Gallon Challenge, asking everyone to save 20 gallons of water per day. Information at: www:chinohills.org
Grand Knight‘s Report – Tom Hughes:
· Financial Secretary’s Report: Dennis Stump reported that the breakfast Oct 13, grossed $506 with a net of $340.00. 130 burritos were sold. He acknowledged Claudette Gillis for her work and assistance.
· The Dec. Burrito breakfast was moved up 1 week to Dec 2, 2007.

· Chancellor’s Report on Vocations: Bill Grancich nothing to report
· Report of Service Program Committees;
· Donald Gonzalez:
· Auditor and trustee report: All bills read and approved
· Community Director – Steve Marquez: No report
· Council Director – Frank Gillis: nothing at this time
· Youth Director – Ramiro Caro: Basketball free throw coming up soon per grand knight
· Church Director – Koji Takemura: He has a price list on jackets and shirts. There was a discussion regarding purchase of hats
· Vocations Director – Bill Grancich: No Report
· Family Director – Mike Leeming: Camping trip to Calico, Ghost Town Jan 4,5,6, reservations made for camp sites. Family camping we have 5 spots at this time..-
· Pro Life – Tom Callahan – Discussed the Montclair abortion clinic prayer meeting on Nov 3,
· Retention Director – Lou Cartwright: No report
· Report of Auditors and Trustees: -
Unfinished Business:
o 2nd degree certificates for the following: Paul Diaz, Jerry Moser, Steve Marquez, Honorary Lifetime for Jerry Musser
o Discussion about purchasing a flag pole cost will be about $75.00 not including a light. Motion to purchase pole made by Koji Takemura, second by Manny Padilla amended to get approval from the pastor prior to purchase. Fr. Pat approved a permanent base so that we can fly the flag during the meetings. Tabled until we get more specifications on the pole.
New Business:
o Bishops Burse donation Joe Bok has requested that we address this. It is a help for different charities such as seminarians. Manny motion to donate $100.00 Second by Jeff Runtz approved.
o Soccer Shootout, City requires insurance for the event. 1million dollars coverage.
o 2nd Nov 7, Fr McGuire, see notes, coat and tie required1st Nov 28 wed Sheppard of Ars, St. John Vianni church,
o Nov 18 Thanksgiving mass for Fr Maher & Fr Crowley. This is also the night of Simon Event at Brea Mall
o Discussion about waiving a knight’s dues if he works a number of event (5) minimum of 10 hours. Motion if you work 5 events for a minimum of 2 hrs or 10 hours total dues will be waived. Beginning at the beginning of the year 2008 to have 2009 dues waived. Approved
o Dave Montoya said Ontario has an area where homeless can stay. The tents were blown down during the winds. They need tents, lights, sleeping bags etc. he will get more information as to contacts.
o Lou Cartwright had eye surgery yesterday.
