Meeting Background：
In retrospect of China’s domestic zircon market in 2005 and 2006, the prices were fluctuated violently, which caused the whole zirconium industry almost lose its way. In 2006 Indonesia’s zircon flooded into China, providing plenty high quality and cheap materials for China. However it impacted the former providing ways of China’s zircon and changed the supply structures of China’s zircon market.
At the beginning of 2007, there were a series of cases that have influenced China’s domestic zircon supply market. Such as domestic zircon production volume was reduced. Vietnam limited its zircon export. Indonesian zircon encountered export permits incidents. Australian dealers increased zircon supply to China. China domestic dealers stocked the zircon for regulating supply market.
Zirconium silicate industry standard will be established in the year of 2007. The standard will have specific rules to all the index and technological processes of the zirconium silicate. Especially, the radioactivity index has been widely concerned by the market. It is necessary that zirconium silicate producers and zircon dealers discuss the zirconium silicate standard together. They should have ideas on the procedures of zirconium silicate standard and those would help the whole zirconium industry’s development.
