CHILDREN’S LIFETIME SPORTS ACADEMY

RESPONSIBILITIES OF STAFF

DR. BRITTON JOHNSON - DIRECTOR

1.Responsible for the entire planning and organization of the Sports Academy.

2.To oversee the entire operation and assist when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FACULTY SUPERVISORS

1.To assist the student instructors in getting all equipment needed for their activities.

2.To make sure that all equipment is cleaned and returned to its permanent location upon the

completion of each activity.

3.To assist each student instructor in the organization of their teaching outlines (this should be

accomplished during arranged times between faculty supervisors and students.

4.To supervise each activity to make sure proper safety precautions and teaching

methodology is occurring.

5.To evaluate each student instructor relative to their teaching effectiveness and control.

6.To assist each student instructor, if needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF STUDENT INSTRUCTORS

1.To work with your faculty coordinator for each activity taught to make sure your progressions and teaching methodology is proper.

2.To get the equipment out each day and put the equipment away each day.

3.To make sure your safety precautions are stressed often.

4.To supervise the pool during free time at end of day.

  1. Lesson plans due on the Friday before camp starts.
  2. Turn in 1 page report of camp, due Friday the last day of Sports Academy Camp.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF COUNSELORS

1.To control and supervise your participants at all times.

2.To make sure that your participants stay on schedule as they move from station to station.

3.To be firm, friendly and fair with all participants. (Do not sacrifice firmness for friendliness).

4.To take attendance each day, and know who is there and who is not there. Give attendance sheets and notes to leave early to Dr. Johnson, Ms. Liebhart, or Mrs. Weber.

5.To turn in rosters to Dr. Johnson, Ms. Liebhart, or Mrs. Weber each day before leaving the gymnasium, and make sure your participants receive information distributed through Leanne or the Coordinators.

6.To assist in the swimming pool as a lifeguard during freetime swim.

7.To assist the student instructors at the stations.

8.To control your participants so that student instructors can teach.

9.To create and make copies of camp evaluations – due Wednesday.

10.Turn in 1 page report of camp, due Friday the last day of Sports Academy Camp.

11.Prepare 2 games to use when children are waiting, write up the plan and turn in Friday before

camp starts.

NOTE: NO CHILD is to leave the academy without a note from the parents/guardian. That note is to be given to Dr. Johnson, Ms. Liebhart, or Mrs. Weber. One of them will pick the child up at the appropriate time and take him/her to the office.
