Children in Need

Children In Need is being held on Friday 17th November. To support this worthwhile cause we would like the children to come to school dressed in their pyjamas in return for a donation to the charity of £1.

Parent Feedback

Thank you very much to everyone who gave us feedback on our parent questionnaire. The responses have been overwhelmingly positive. 100% of people either agreed or strongly agreed that the school planned a broad and challenging curriculum, that their child does their best at school and that their child is making progress. All respondents felt that their child enjoyed school. Many parents commented on the friendly atmosphere in the school and the very good range of after school clubs and extra-curricular opportunities. The nurturing approach of the school and having lots of opportunities for parents to come in and work with the children were also appreciated. Thank you also for the helpful suggestions we received. We are looking at them individually as there was no one particular area of concern. We listen to all feedback which helps us to continue to improve outcomes for our children.

Parking

We would like to remind parents toconsider where they are parking when dropping off and picking up their children from school. Please don’t block driveways and pavements, but consider the residents and the safety of our children.

Morning Routine

Please be aware that the children should be supervised by their parents on the school grounds until the bell rings at 8:50am, when they should come to their classroom doors. They should not be left unsupervised, or be allowed to play on the school adventure playground.

Cross Country Championship

We would like to say a big well done to Maisie, George and Lily who took part in the Norfolk Schools Cross Country Championship last week. We are very proud of you all. Thank you also to their parents who transported them to the event.

Christmas School Sugar Collection

This Christmas our school will be collecting sugar to support a local appeal, “Sugar for Shelters”. Every year Norfolk and Suffolk school children donate sugar to help homeless people throughout the county at Christmas. (The total last year was an amazing 6 tonnes !). Sugar for Shelters is a part of the Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal BEFA. This Norfolk farm based Christmas Food Charity, founded by Norfolk farmer Mike Buckingham in 1985 provides the food for more than 5000 Christmas dinners. Schools help Sugar Shelters by collecting bags of sugar for the homeless, needy and vulnerable in local shelters. Huge amounts of sugar are needed and make a REAL difference in Shelters and Food Kitchens throughout Norfolk and Suffolk in the cold days of winter and particularly over Christmas.

Collecting sugar is simple and affordable and helps children focus on the spirit of giving at Christmas. British Sugar will match the schools donations of every kilo of their brand of sugar (Silver Spoon) up to 2000kg!

We do hope that you and your child can help the homeless and needy by bringing in a bag of sugar to school by Friday December 1st.

Thank you in anticipation for supporting the Appeal at this special time of the year.

Family Fridays

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who join us for our Family Fridays. It is a lovely opportunity for children to show how proud they are of their work. We continue to invite you in every week to join us to take part in an activity and look at children’s work.

Reading Cafe

We are holding a reading café for children and parents from Kestrel class on Wednesday 29th November at 2:45pm in the hall. This is an opportunity for parents and children to work together on a fun task linked to reading. We hope to see you there.
