Stewardship Thought

Those of us who regard ourselves as radical in the church sometimes confine our concern regarding bringing people to the table to those who are the vulnerable and needy. We don't really look for the little person who climbs a tree to seek Jesus from a position of power and riches. We are likely to push that person to the back of the crowd or regard as not worthy of our attention. Jesus sees into the heart of everyone and no one is outside the table of welcome. God does not give up on the rich and powerful - they too can be transformed.

Children and Their Safety are Important at Chestnut Hill UMC

We rejoice that as a church we are able to offer carefully planned, age appropriate care and activities for our children and youth.

All children ages 4- 11 will be in Children’s Church.

Children 12 and above will stay in the sanctuary for worship.

Nursery is provided for infants and toddlers. The Nursery is located in Classroom 101 (exit through the right side door at the front of the sanctuary, pass through “the Commons,” gothrough the double doors to the Education Building and follow the hallway to the Nursery at the end of the hall on the left).

Operation Christmas Child

We are collecting now for Operation Christmas Child. All items must be SMALL so they can fit in the shoe boxes. We need toys, school supplies, books, bibles, wash cloths, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. Remember to keep all items small and place in the plastic tub provided in the Commons. Donations need to be in by Sunday, November 6th.

Special Charge Conference Offering to be Received TODAY!
This year, our church will receive a special Charge Conference offering. The Food for Families at Park View Mission is building a ramp to help cut down the number of volunteers needed to unpack heavy pallets of food being delivered. They received a very generous grant to cover the cost, but unfortunately with unforeseen expenses they are $5,700.00 short and have no way to cover the cost. The Lynchburg Central Cluster has agreed to make this our mission offering for Charge Conference. It is a large sum but we believe if each church is willing to give, sacrificially we can meet our goal. Please mark your check and pew envelope “Special Charge Conference offering-Park View Food for Families”
