Chicot Primary School and ECC plans meetings monthly to increase parent involvement opportunities. Our meetings provide parents the opportunity to become more involved in making decisions for our school, receive parenting tips, and mentoring opportunities. Teachers often provide training sessions and opportunities for parents and community members on the information needed to participate as successful school volunteers. These efforts assist the parents and create a sense of ease and make the experience pleasant and successful. All parent meetings will be held during appropriate times to ensure equity in parental involvement. Contact

The school will also provide (2) hours of professional development for teachers in Parental Involvement which is designed to enhance their understanding of effective parental involvement strategies. Listed below are several examples of how ChicotPrimary School and ECC promotes Parental Involvement:

Resources are available for parents in the Parent Resource Center. Parents may check out materials, use the computer to check grades, and visit educational web sites. All parents are invited and encouraged to view the Title I Plan located in the ParentResourceCenter in the main office area. A suggestion sheet will also be available for parental input. The school will open the ParentResourceCenter at hours that are convenient to parents. Contact
