Chapter Six: The Reunion
The exo armor encased He-Man soared high above the Vixar City skyline, thanks in part to the exo armor's built in rocket engines, and soared far ahead of Hydron and his forces. He-Man's visor began to automatically target the leviathans he had been sent to help destroy. The exo armor automatically followed the targeting computer all He-Man had to do was be the pilot of the armor. The swarm of gunships behind He-Man began to target their guns on the leviathans which came into view. The two mechanical creatures were spider like in appearance with eight galvanized legs each, a spherical body and at least seven stories tall. The gunships opened fire upon the leviathans. The laser fire from the gunships impacted with the force fields that surrounded the creatures. From the data read outs on the exo armor visor He-Man saw that the force fields could only protect against laser fire. Using the automatic targeting He-Man targeted a massive spider leg on one of the creatures. Inside his helmet was a bite stick that allowed him to fire weapons. He-Man bit down lightly on the bite stick and two missiles fired from the exo armor's right missile launcher. The missiles penetrated the leviathan's sheilds and struck the massive leg igniting in a fiery explosion.
When the leg became visible again He-Man could see various fractures in the metal around where the missiles had hit. He-Man piloted the exo armor through the force shields and struck the fractured area of the leviathan's leg with the right fist of the exo armor. The exo armor amplified He-Man's super human strength and the blow tore the leg from the creature's body. The severed metal leg fell to the evacuated city streets below. He-Man piloted the exo armor away from the leviathan to begin another assault when suddenly a laser shot from the roof of a nearby building struck the back of the exo armor. The back exploded and all the power in the armor went out. Now He-Man, wearing the lifeless exo armor, began to plummet from the sky at a fast rate.
Back in Vixar Tower Selbian grew worried and Teela could see it in his eyes. "What is wrong?" she asked. "I have a strange feeling He-Man may be in trouble." answered Selbian. The young Duncan took one look upon the computer console that had been tracking He-Man in the exo armor. "Master Selbian, " said Duncan, " He-Man has disappeared from the scanners." "It is as I feared the exo armor must have been damaged." said Selbian. "Already? This early in battle?" asked Teela. Selbian said nothing and hurried away from the console to a large device with several circular particle emitters mounted on the ceiling. "What are you doing?" asked Teela as she hurried over to see what Selbian was up to. Selbian hung his head and said "I am going to have to break the laws of my world once again by summoning help for He-Man from the past." "Huh?", said Teela quizzically, "What do you mean from the past?" Selbian didn't answer and began pressing various buttons on the machine's console.
Without the anti gravity field the exo armor's true weight was realized and this caused He-Man to plummet like a rock. He-Man shut his eyes as he crashed through the top of a skyscraper. Inside the building priman people scattered about for their lives from this object that had just crashed through the roof. Some of the people gathered about the exo armor encased person out of curosity. He-Man slid out of the armor and surprised everyone that he was alive. He-Man got up off of the floor and looked about at the damage. "I will repair this damage after I take care of your little Delenium problem." said He-Man to the people as he rushed out of the room and into a near by hyper lift.
The particle emitters on the ceiling began to glow as Teela asked "What exactly is this thing for?" "It is a time teleporter one of my earliest time travel devices." answered the old man, " It has the ability to take things out of the past from anywhere in the galaxy and bring it to this time." Teela watched as beams shot down from the particle emitters and converged onto the floor. "What are you bringing from the past?" asked Teela. "You shall see within a few moments." said Selbian as the converged energy from the particle emitters began to take form.
The hyper lift doors opened and He-Man was on the ground floor. The warrior rushed out of the hyper lift and out of the building as fast as he could. A little ways in the distance He-Man could see the gunships firing barrages of missiles at the leviathans. He began to run towards the direction of the battle when two streaks of laser fire from above impacted the concrete ground in front of him. He-Man looked up to see a small triangular shaped fighter ship with a black opaque canopy on the top and two rather large beam cannons mounted on the sides hovering above him. He-Man summoned his power and began to run away from the fighter. The fighter followed him firing laser shots behind him.
Cringerphysicallygrewintoalargerandbeastlyversionofhimself. Inabrightflashredsaddlearmorformedontohisbackandaredarmoredmaskappearedonhisface. WhenthelightfadedthemightyBattleCatstoodinCringer'splaceandroaredamightyroarofpowerthatstartledyoungDuncanandevenTeela. "CringerisBattleCat?"askedTeelaaloudtoherselfinasurprisedtone, "Ishouldhaveknownthis. Itmakesperfectsensenow." Selbianspoketothemightyarmoredtiger. "BattleCat IhavesummonedyouheretoaidyourcomradeandmightymasterHe-Man. Heisindanger." TeelalookedintoBattleCat'seyesandsawthatheunderstoodwhatSelbiantoldhim. UsingasixthsenseBattleCatturnedtowardthedirectionwhereHe-Manhadgoneand,usinghispowerfullegs,leaptoutthemassiveopenwindowintheroom. Teelalookedshocked "BattleCatjustleaptout. Weareattheverytopofthistowerandhecan'tfly!"sheexclaimed. "Hewilllandonhisfeet."saidSelbian.
He-Manwasinamoderatesprintasthefightershipwasgainingonhim. ThefighterfiredlasershotuponlasershotjustdirectlybehindHe-Man. Hadhebeenasittingtargetthelaserswouldhavemettheirmark. He-Man,thinkingonhisfeet,turnedandrantowardsthefighter. TheSwordofEterniaquicklymethishandsandwithapowerfulleapHe-Mansoaredintotheairandslicedtheportblastcannonfromthefightershipwiththesword. Theseveredcannonsparkedasithittheground. He-Manlandedonthegroundandturnedbacktowardsthefightership. HoldingtheSwordofEterniainastrongtwohandedgrip He-Manwasreadytofaceoffwiththepilotofthisvehicle.
Justasthefightershipwasreadytoprimeit'sremainingcannononthewarrior BattleCatcameoutofnowhereandleapttowardsthefightership. Hestruckthesideoftheshipwithhismightyrightpaw. Thestrengthofthehitsentthefightershipspinningoutofcontrolandsentitcrashingintothefaceofanearbybuilding. BattleCatlandedinfrontofHe-Manandroaredafriendlyhellotohisfriend. "BattleCat."saidHe-Manwithjoyinhisvoice,"Idon'treallyknowhowyougothere,althoughIcanguess." BattleCatpurredandrubbedacornerofhisheadagainstHe-Man. Thewarriorpattedtheheadofhisfelinecomradeandleaptintothesaddleonthebackofthebeastsheathinghisswordinonemotion. He-ManpointedtothebattleinthedistancebetweenHydron'sgunshipsandtheleviathans. "Hurry,BattleCat,wemusthelpstopthosemachinesbeforetheydestroythiscity."saidHe-Man. BattleCat,withHe-Manasrider,obeyedandranofftowardstheensuingbattle.
