CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION

1. ENTRY FORM - Further copies of this entry form are available from the Organiser and the Secretary. A separate entry form must be completed by each player and sent to Mrs. Brenda Stephenson, 10 Weaverthorpe, Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough TS7 0PU, no later than TUESDAY 26th SEPTEMBER 2017.

2. PROGRAMME - All competitors will receive a complimentary programme containing the draw, their times of play and other information. All competitors will be sent, at least seven days prior to the tournament, an acknowledgement of entry stating the time of their first match in each event entered.

3. DIRECTIONS - A map to the venue will be sent with the acknowledgement of entry, however, if you get into difficulties ask for the Thornaby Town Centre.

4. MEALS - Full meals are available in the restaurant inside the Pavilion at all times throughout the Championship at reasonable prices.

5. CHANGING ROOMS - To ensure that none of your clothing or personal belongings are stolen the Organising Committee request all competitors to use the locker system at the Pavilion.

6. CAR PARKING - Car parking at owner's risk is available close to the venue but restrictions apply.

7. An Assistant Umpire may be appointed by the Referee (x). Scoring machines will be used for all matches.

8. The draw will take place at 5 Thompsons Close, Wolviston on Saturday 30th September 2017 at 10.00am.

9. If it is necessary to restrict entries this will be done on the basis of last received, first out except for Junior 4 Star – entry qualifications see regulations. The Referee reserves the right to cancel any event. No refunds will be given after the draw has been made.

10. Practice – There will be no separate practice facilities. Competitors will be permitted to practice on tables not in use at the discretion of the Referee.

11. Competitors, coaches, parents and spectators will be admitted to tournament venue free of charge.

12. Doping control tests may take place.

13. Match results will be submitted for inclusion in the Table Tennis England - Computer Ranking Scheme. The Additional Computer Ranking Scheme Levy of £1.00 is included in the entry fee. The weighting factor will be x1.75 for the singles events and x1.25 for the team events.

CHAMPIONSHIPS REGULATIONS

1.Table Tennis England Tournament Regulations including Regulation R (Racket Re-Rubbering) apply to this tournament. ITTF Regulations for International Competitions apply except those relating to the matters covered by items marked (x) in this entry form.

2.Every entrant must be affiliated as a Player Member to the Table Tennis England or another National Association in membership of the ITTF.

3.Every player must hold a valid Table Tennis England Player Licence or have paid the appropriate Single Competition Licence Fee with their entry form unless he/she provides proof of being a member of another national Association affiliated to the ITTF and is not affiliated to Table Tennis England

4.Racket testing may take place at the discretion of the Organising Committee.

5.Completion and submission of this entry form signifies agreement by the entrant to the conditions of the competition including the variations from ITTF requirements.

6.All matches shall be the best of five games. Play throughout will be on a knockout basis with the exception of the preliminary rounds which may, at the discretion of the Referee, be on a group basis. The winner of the group will be defined as in ITTF Regulation 3.7.5.

7.The Referee’s decision shall be final on point of law and on any question arising not provided for in these regulations or in any dispute as to the interpretation thereof.

8.No competitor will be obliged to umpire.

9.The referee reserves the right to cancel any event and if this becomes necessary it will be done on the basis of cancelling firstly team events, and secondly singles events.

10.Competitors in Junior events must have been born in 2000 or later.

Competitors in Cadet events must have been born in 2003 or later.

Competitors in Under 13 events must have been born in 2005 or later.

11. No competitor or official shall engage in betting on players or matches.

12. It would be appreciated if competitors in the team events dressed uniformly but this is not mandatory (x). ITTF Regulations 3.2.2.8 regarding clothing will not apply (x).

13.Competitors will be permitted to practice on tables not in use at the discretion of the Referee.

14.Decisions on points of fact by an umpire appointed by the Referee shall be final.

15.Doping shall not take place either before or during play.

16.Entry to Graded events is restricted according to the Table Tennis England Rating List no 17/1 September 2017 current at the closing date for entries. Restrictions are as follows:

Junior 4* Tournaments – Entry Qualifications

If it becomes necessary to restrict entries, this will be on the basis of last received first out, with the following exception:

For players affiliated to Table Tennis England, valid entries for Junior Boys rated 1-50 in the rating list current at the closing date, Junior Girls rated 1-32, Cadet Boys rated 1-32 and Cadet Girls rated 1-32 are guaranteed to be accepted. Thereafter, entries will be accepted in order of receipt, with priority given to Junior Boys rated 51-500 and Junior Girls rated 33-250

TEAM EVENT REGULATIONS

1. The Championship Regulations and Information printed on the entry form apply to the team events.

2. Entries can only be accepted by completing this entry form. Under no circumstances will players be paired up for team events. Please ensure that a bona-fide club name is used.

3. Competitors who only enter the team event must enter their Membership / Player Licence Number and sign the undertaking on the singles’ entry form. Players without a licence must pay a Single Competition Licence fee.

4. Entries can only be accepted from National Associations affiliated to the ITTF or from Affiliated Clubs. It is hoped to attract entries from foreign associations. The event will be played under the following regulations.

(a) Teams shall be represented in a match by two singles players and a doubles pair selected from those nominated for the event,

(b) Up to four players may be nominated by their National Association or their affiliated club; (c) a team match will consist of up to 4 singles and a doubles,

(d) All matches best of 5 games,

(e) Play may be on a knockout or group basis at the discretion of the Referee,

(f) Order of play will be A v X, B v Y, doubles, A v Y, B v X,

(g) The Referee will require a match to stop once a result is reached,

(h) Cadet players may compete in one team event only either the Cadet Team events or the Junior Team events, however, the cadet singles events may be scheduled for play at the same time as the junior team events,

(i) Match results will be submitted for inclusion in the Table Tennis England Computer Ranking Scheme. The additional Computer Ranking Scheme Levy of £1.00 is included in the entry fee.
