  1. Aims of the Programme

This course aims to facilitate, prepare and enhance the role of healthcare professionals delivering care to the neonate on discharge home. Ultimately, this course should support the practitioner in giving care that is not only family focused but holistic to the needs of the individual infant and family. As a result, the development of the infant and family unit will be optimised.

15.Personal Development Planning
This is not new but is something you should already be engaged in through your employment. Personal Development Planning (PDP) is a process designed to assist you to get the most from your time as a student at the university. It is intended to provide you with a structured and supported process through which you can reflect on your learning, performance and/or achievements and plan for your personal, educational and career development. By becoming actively involved in PDP you can improve your capacity to understand what and how you are learning, and how to review, plan and take responsibility for your own learning and future development

This course is open for any applicant who has a desire to learn more about caring for the neonate in the community or who is already working in neonatal/paediatric setting and wishes to extend their knowledge. All applicants must demonstrate an ability to study at the required academic level.
