CENTRAL FLORIDA CHAPTER OF NIGP EXTERNSHIP APPLICATION
Our Mission Statement:
The Central Florida Chapter of NIGP (CFC-NIGP) works to promote and support the professional development of its diverse membership and strives to maintain the highest standard of ethics, integrity, public trust and awareness in the public procurement profession.
Externship Program:
The intent of this externship program is to offer students the opportunity for an externship withinvolvement in a broad range of activities for a minimum of 3 days. Interns will participate in theprocurement process. Moreover, interns will provide assistance and support to the Procurement staff in their day-to-day business. This could include preparation of solicitation, data analysis, evaluation andpresentation of results.
The Central Florida NIGP externship program is an unpaid program and interns are expected to work a minimum of 6 hours a day during normal business hours. In order for your application to be considered, the following information and criteria must be completed.
Required Information/Criteria for Internship:
Be a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship.
Provide transcripts and/or documentation of current course enrollment OR proof of graduation from a four (4) year or two (2) year university/college with a degree in a procurement/supply chain management, public administration, or business administration.
Student shall provide a Florida State Identification demonstrating residence in one of the following (11) Counties: Alachua, Brevard, Citrus, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter or Volusia. At the time of application applicant must be age thirty-five (35) or younger.

Student shall include an essay on the following topic “A career in Public Procurement, what is it and is it for me?” Essays shall be a minimum of five-hundred (500) words. CFC-NIGP reserves the right to publish and reproduce this essay for an indefinite period of time without any compensation or royalties to the applicant.

Externship applications will be reviewed by a panel of CFC-NIGP Committee members selected to serve on a Selection Committee.
Note: Individuals with a direct or indirect family or business relationship with any CFL-NIGP Chapter member must note the relationship on their application in order to assist in proper placement to avoid any conflict of interest.
