The Rescue Mission Alliance(RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the people we serve. The Central Coast Rescue Mission (CCRM) is an 18-bed men’s facility dedicated to assisting men who are poor, homeless, and or have substance abuse problems. It also provides outreach services to the homeless and poor living on the Central Coast. The Central Coast Super Thrift (CCST) store provides work therapy for our program men and volunteer opportunities for the community.

Summary

The Program Manager develops, implements and directs CCRM’s residential men’s programs and facilities for addiction recovery and Biblical discipleship. Must be an excellent team-builderand team-leader with the ability to plan for and achieve outcomes.This is a full-time, exempt position located in Santa Maria, CA reporting to the CCRM Director. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience and includes benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a strongphased-based recoveryprogram with curriculum consistent with CCRM/RMA theory of change.
  • Recruits and cultivates an effective team including program staff and volunteers.
  • Responsible for program administration including producing, updating, and implementing the Program’s manual and its component parts.
  • Develop a strong outreach ministry that:
  • Serves a meaningful number of clients.
  • Includes transformational ministry.
  • Engages volunteers.
  • Utilizes SOS Outreach Truck.
  • Cultivates a culture of meeting high standards and performance with necessary systems of accountability.
  • Prepares and qualifies program members for achieving stated outcomes.
  • Implement policies and procedures for safety and loss prevention. Ensures all employees, volunteers and clients follow RMA’s IIPP and Smith’s System safe driving procedures in working accident free by attending monthly safety matrix and tailgate meetings, reporting near misses, offering safety suggestions, etc.
  • Ensures that case notes, journals, and statistics are up to date.
  • Establish and track program outcome measures that accurately indicate the effectiveness of the program and benchmarked results.
  • Leverages thrift store operations for benefit of both program (vocational training) and community awareness.
  • Integrates program members into outreach ministries of the mission.
  • Incorporates volunteers into class schedule and for one to one mentoring.
  • Provides Administration with monthly program reports and outreach statistics.
  • Assist the Director in developing graduate follow-up procedures, refining and expanding the vocational training and job placement program while accurately measuring the post-graduate vocational stability.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Program Manager will supervise Program Assistants, Interns and volunteers in their various assignments including weekend and evening assignments.
  • Provides direction, scheduling, and supervision to program assistants.
  • Maintain a high-level of integrity, camaraderie, and professional relationship with staff.
  • Responsible for recruiting, development, training, and performance evaluation of direct report staff, providing feedback on strengths and development needs.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • A "Servant Leader" in actual everyday situations in alignment with RMA’s Lead Like Jesus commitment and Mission/Vision/Values.
  • Collaborates with Administrative Lead on maintaining mission’s vehicles, facilities

and recognition for safe behavior and practices.

  • Promote/Train RMA Mission/Vision/Values.
  • Promote RMA Safety Program and in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and Smith Systems policies and procedures, model safe work practices.
  • Special Projects as assigned by Director for Program.

Qualifications

  • A solid Bible based Christian faith, compatible with RMA’s Statement of Faith and an active member of an Evangelical church.
  • Must have a firm grasp on the Bible approach for treatment of addictive disorders.
  • BA or Bible School/Seminary degree in related field or equivalent experience plus five

years ministry, management, supervisory and non-profit experience.

  • Valid California driver’slicense and insurable under RMA.

Skills and Characteristics Necessary

  • Able to work with high levels of awareness, discernment, and decision making so that the mission’s resources are being invested in clients who are serious about life-change.
  • Self-motivated – must be able to keep goals in front every day and at the same time find necessary rest to keep up with the demands of the job.
  • A learner, study and stay current with relevant works in the areas of recovery, discipleship, leadership, and management.
  • Support vision of Mission to train leaders, honor the poor, and engage volunteers.
  • Multi-Task –rise above the day to day grind of program issues and keep the bigger vision ahead of him and work toward the same.
  • Able to expound and answer client questions regarding Biblical aspects of the program.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to support CCRM development with program and outreach testimonies, video and photographs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to satisfactorily perform all duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • A teachable spirit and committed to team participation.

Software

PC knowledge including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 30lbs., stand on feet for long periods of time, and climb stairs.

Equipment

  • Basic office equipment, such as computers, copiers, and printers.
  • Cars, vans, and light trucks.

Work Environment

This position will function to a large degree in an office environment. As a part of normal duties this position will also be in facilities with an at-risk population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present.
