Red Ribbon Week: The kids had a great time with theme days celebrating Red Ribbon Week and learning different ways to stay Drug Free! Thank you to Mrs. Tillman for coordination fun events for each day!

Bulls Experience: As a reward for fundraiser sales, on November 4th, about 50 students, parents, and chaperones attended the Bulls experience. Students were able to shoot around on the court, take pictures with the cheerleaders and championship trophies, and watch the exciting game. It was a long day, but well worth it. I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Dave O’Brien, our bus driver, for his patience and skill on the drive. It was foggy and dark, and he did a wonderful job taking care of our students.

FLEX Enrichment: Abby Corzine recently came to the middle school to talk to the students about banking and being an EMT. She provided wonderful information on what it means to have a “hometown-family” run bank in our community. Abby is also a volunteer EMT for the Assumption Ambulance and talked to the students about what it takes to become an EMT and what a week on call might look like. She did a great job and numerous kids were interested in becoming volunteers when they are of age.

Members of the CAM FFA came during Flex to discuss what the FFA program can offer them in high school. The members made a point to talk to the students about the activities that they are in other than FFA to show the students that they can be in FFA and continue to be in sports or other clubs or organizations. The FFA also made it clear to the students that FFA is not all about agriculture. It has more of a focus on leadership and team building. In fact, the members had the students complete a team building activity during their time together.

Jackie Davis Robley, CAM class of 96, came to the Middle School to talk with students about massage therapy and owning your own business. She discussed the schooling required to become a massage therapist, and shared local schools that provide this certification. Jackie also touched on how customer service is so important when running your own business. She reminded the students about how important it is to choose classes in high school that will help them on their career path. Thank you to Jackie for working with our Raiders!

Musical: The Central A&M Middle School will be presenting the musical Beauty & The Beast, Jr. on November 11th and 12th! Come out to see this amazing performance by our students! One Book, One School: CAMP chipped in and paid for ALL of the books purchased for our One Book, One School program.

MsStoune's Language Arts classes have finished up the novel "Wonder". Today, they participated in a class activity where they practiced kindness to one another while creating a cool display for our hallways. Each student wrote something kind, or paid a compliment, to each of their classmates on these posters.

Mrs. Oldham's Reading classes were given the opportunity to design a tshirt based on Wonder. The kids have come up with some great ideas, some depict their favorite scenes, and some show a visual of the theme. It would be difficult to choose a favorite!

First Lego League: Eight students applied to participate in the First Lego League team. Competition is December 16th, at Hope School in Decatur. Participants are Samantha Hazelwonder, Sam Moore, Keegan Sanders, Mikayla Rees, Philip Lehman, Max Johnson, Brynn Hunter, and Elizabeth Rutan.

Pack the Place: What a great turn out for Pack the Place last night! Our Middle School choir did a fantastic job performing the national anthem! Well done, Mr.Jacob Elamand students!

Veteran’s Day Assemblies: On Friday, November 10th, the students at Central A&M Middle School will be participating in many activities to honor our veterans and service members. Area veterans are invited to a luncheon following the morning ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 9:40 with a presentation from a local organization, Soldiers for Dogs. The VFW ceremony will begin at 10:00, and we encourage anyone in the community who would like to attend to be at the Middle School a few minutes prior. The Veteran's lunch will begin at 11:00. After lunch, our students will pack care packages for Soldiers overseas, as well as write "Mail Call" letters for veterans attending the Honor Flight program. Thank you for supporting this program that means so much to our students!

Central A & M High School

Central A&M High School celebrated our area Veterans with a Veterans Day program on Friday, November 10. After a dignified ceremony, which included the Central A&M High School Band and Chorus, Student Council President Riley Black, and members of the FFA with the Giant Flag, the FCS class served our veterans and their families a nice lunch. It is the least we can do for our veterans, who have sacrificed so much for us.

Here are a few other notes from the High School:

Hunter Mott was the 4th place individual overall and Morgan Jamison was the 10th place individual overall! Congratulations!

The plants are all in the ground for Phase II of the Central A&M High School landscaping project. Big thanks to Mrs. Burgener and her Horticulture class, and, of course, the professional guidance of John Heck. It looks very, very nice.

Senior Brooke Friesner completed an assignment for her Graphic Arts Class at Heartland Technical Academy thinking she may be able to win $5 worth of free food! Instead, her work was selected best overall, earning her a $100 Amazon certificate. Here is the notification: Brooke Friesner submitted the winning design in Richland Community College Foundation's "Create a Thanksgiving Card" contest! Brooke is an HTA student from Central A&M and is enrolled in RCC's Graphic Arts program. Brooke will also sign to play softball at Robert Morris on November 14.

Our cheerleaders did a great job this whole season, especially this week! They decorated around the school, decorated around the towns, boosted school spirit, planned the pep rally, and kept it all going with extra effort.

Central A&M High School students helped quite a bit with Red Ribbon Week, visiting both Gregory and Bond schools. Also, Gregory students wrapped up the week on Friday with an autograph session with the high school Fall athletes. I think the high school students enjoyed it even more than the Gregory students!
