Join Main Street the Fort Pierce Sunrise Kiwanis for the 2016 Sights & Sounds on Second Christmas Parade

Main Street Fort Pierce will host its 28th Annual Sights & Sounds on Second Festival & Parade on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The festival highlight is the Main Street/Fort Pierce Sunrise Kiwanis Christmas Parade.

1:30 p.m. Mandatory check-in at the Fort Pierce Community Center on North Indian River Drive.

3:00 p.m.Parade set-up begins on North Second Street, between Seaway Drive and Backus Ave.

4:00 p.m.The Parade begins at Tickle Tummy Hill and travels south on Second Street to Orange Avenue, turns east on Orange Avenue to Indian River Drive, turns back north on Indian River Drive go through the roundabout, and follow Indian River Drive north to the Community Center..

Basic Guidelines for Parade Participants

Please retain this portion for your records!

  1. All entries must have an application on file prior to the event.
  2. All vehicles MUST be decorated with a Christmas theme & provide some sort of Music.

This year’s theme is “Cattleman’s Christmas Parade”

  1. The parade coordinator retains the right to make final decision on all parade entries.
  2. Parade set-up begins at 3:00 p.m. with check-in (MANDATORY) beginning at 1:30 p.m.

You will receive your entry #, map and staging assignment at check-in.

  1. No open flames on floats or parade objects.
  2. No articles will be thrown or passed from any vehicle, float or other entry.
  3. Main Street hosts SANTA’s arrival; NO live Santa on any entry!
  4. Alcoholic beverages prohibited.
  5. No novelty, concession sales or other type solicitation operations on parade route unless authorized by Main Street Fort Pierce.
  6. Parades are inherently crowded and noisy. Please evaluate your equestrian entries carefully to be sure all horses are comfortable with both noise and crowded conditions. All equestrian entries will be grouped together at the beginning of the parade following dignitaries. Equestrian entries must supply their own clean-up crew to follow their entry.
  7. Equestrian entries must secure and maintain Coggins certification. Main Street does not assume responsibility in assuring compliance with Department of Agriculture rules as they relate to the transportation of equine participants.
  8. No special performances will be allowed at the Judge’s reviewing stand.
  9. The parade must go on. . .once the parade commences - No Stopping for any reason*(unless directed to do so by parade officials)
  10. To facilitate a safe, organized and SWIFT arrival and departure for all parade participants the parade route will start and finish at the Community Center – 600 North Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce, FL. Please have all participants dropped off and picked up at the Community Center.
