Notes:

  1. It was decided that the July 10th meeting will focus on planning the CRC event.
  2. Darwin Hochstedler suggested that the Cedar Valley ASHRAE website needs to be updated with current meeting times and notes. Jared Ramthun and Gus Vassiliades have agreed to work on the website to ensure the information contained is current.
  3. It was decided that the Cedar Valley ASHRAE golf outing will be held at the Brown Deer golf course in Coralville, IA. on August 15, 2012.
  4. This year, Justin Opperman will reconfigure the golf outing sign up sheet. Attendees will now be allowed to opt in/out of dinner. Attendees will also be allowed to prepay for mulligan’s.
  5. Jared Ramthun will be emailing a “save the date” email for the golf outing no later than next week.
  6. Justin Opperman will have the golf outing invitations in the mail by the last week of July.
  7. Justin Opperman will be leading an effort to gain new hole sponsors for the golf outing.
  8. Doug Neale suggested naming a theme for the CRC. He recommended ASHRAE’s Building Energy Labeling Program. In order to receive an in-operation Building Energy Quotient (BEQ), building owners must engage the services of professionals who have earned the ASHRAE-Certified Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) designation to verify indoor environment quality conditions, use utility bills and other documentation to calculate the building's energy usage and highlight potential energy conservation measures. Doug let us know that through his research, he has not found a single individual in the state of Iowa that is BEAP certified. Doug thinks that having a BEAP certified individual speak at the CRC would be very beneficial. Doug has identified two possible candidates to speak. One from the University of Illinois and one from White Group. More information on BEQ / BEAP can be found at
